Arrived at 10pm after a big day where we missed dinner while traveling, and were going to be on the road till about midnight. I wanted to eat inside and take a break. My young son was SO excited to use the playground and I needed the bathroom. Despite the lights being on in the dinning room and the sign on the door saying the dinning room was open till midnight the doors were locked. And no one came to open them when they heard us pulling on the doors. (I'm assuming they locked the doors after cleaning so they didn't have to clean again and could leave as soon as their shifts were over.) We went through the drive through and the service was the classic "ugh, I just work here" meets "why don't you know the nuisances of our lemonade options/availability?" and "why are people bothering me?" mentality you see and junkier fast food places. I was surprised to see "Carla Jr. Is dedicated to 100% customer satisfaction" on a sign by the pick up window. I don't know if this is lip service, there by obligation like the "employees must wash hands for two minutes" signs you see in bathrooms, or if the employee was having an off day. Either way the service was bad enough to fall outside of normal and into "worth talking about" with my brother for a while. (And evidently bad enough that I felt the need to write a review the next day.) It wasn't outright hostile (1 star) but definitely poor (2 star.) The food was definitely good. Hot and fresh. The strawberry lemonade was great. We had to wait behind two other cars for about eight minutes before getting food. 12 chicken nuggets, 2 single patty burgers, a med lemonade and med fry set us back $29.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered food for my husband last night. A burger with no onions and chicken tenders. When he started eating the burger, there were onions all over the burger. He took a bite of a chicken tender, and he pulled a hair from his mouth after taking a bite and noticed there was a glob of hair fried onto the chicken. We went back right away before they closed and tried to go into the lobby. Zack to be specific looked at my husband multiple times and ignored him. I had to go through the drive through to get someone to acknowledge us. I let him know at the window as he told me to pull up that he had horrible customer service and he is a SHIFT LEAD?! Are you serious? I've been in customer service for years and I've never been like that towards a customer. He needs some direction and extreme training. I've posted this issue on Tooele 411 and it looks like Carl's Jr along with other fast food restaurants have terrible health and food codes and there's no repercussions for this from the city? Zack asked if we wanted a refund or more chicken. No, we do not want more chicken! We want a refund, which he gave us. He complained he was 2 hours behind on work. Not our problem. Manage your time better. Treat your customers with more respect. Be a "leader" to your team.

Carl's should close this location, it drags them into the gutter. I ordered 3 sandwiches. The famous star, and 2 charbroiled guacamole bacon burgers. None of which had any tomato on them, and they are supposed to. Barely any onions or bacon or guacamole, as you can see in the picture. Super sloppy and nothing like other Carl's Jr's in Salt Lake. Don't bother going here. You don't get all the items that go in your sandwich, and if you do get them, you'll need a microscope because the portion will be so small. Absolute trash establishment, and I love Carl's Jr. They are one of the few places that embraces Utah and offers fry sauce. ***Edit*** Editing to post a comparison picture of the same sandwiches but from the 5400 south redwood rd store. One is regular guacamole burger and one is lettuce wrapped. THEY DO IT RIGHT! Multiple onion slices, two slices of tomato, big pieces of bacon, aaaaand look at my lettuce!!! I love a large helping of lettuce and they totally delivered on it. Plus none of that nasty shredded lettuce some places use. A++

The quality has been slowly declining at this location and Friday was no exception. We went though the drive-thru around 3:30 pm so the place wasn't busy. Employee was nice enough, but seemed very bored and not very interested in taking our order. We ordered a #1 and a #2, both with changes to the original burgers, along with a large crisscut and a small fry. After handing us our drinks and taking the payment, he handed us a bag, said thanks, closed the window and walked away. We wanted ketchup, but while we waited for him to notice us still sitting there, we realized they didn't give us the crisscut and fries. Eventually he returned, asked if we needed something, we said, "yes, our fries". He came back with a small crisscut and a large fry. At this non-busy time of day, our special order burgers turned out to be lukewarm and half-a**ed. Save yourself the hassle and go across the street to Apollo Burger.

*UPDATE: 4 months later... Quality is gone for good, I'm afraid. Ordered a burger w/ no pickles and a med fry. Burger had pickles and fries are soggy and salty, salty, salty, salty. Burger was edible minus the nasty flavor the pickles added (sorry, I really hate this buggers), but the fries were not. Waste of...
