I drove 20 minutes out of my way while in Topeka to try out this cute coffee shop that Iāve seen on social media. They seemed to be a great place with Christian values. Unfortunately that not what I experienced. Was there on 8/25/25 around 10:20 am. I informed the cashier that it was my first time there and she offered me a recommendation for a milk & honey latte. I asked her to add cinnamon powder to it. Then I asked for a single shot of decaf. She turned to a man that had been just standing in the espresso area watching the girls work and asked him if they could do a single shot. He seemed to be a manager or owner as he had his laptop and personal items at a table where he sat down and worked/watched the girls work. He said no, they werenāt allowed to do a single shot. His āmachine is pressurized to pull a double shot.ā I completely understand that, but asked if he could split the double shot into a single shot. He replied with a rude and condescending attitude. He informed me that he will NOT do that and that I āWILL get a double shotā Looking at the young girls faces that were working with him, they seemed uncomfortable having him there. I will not be back to put money in this guys pocket. I hope heās just a manager and can be replaced for the good of the other employees that work there. No one deserves to work in a place where they donāt feel safe.
The coffee was decent. Surprisingly weak espresso flavor for a double shot though.
Wanting a single shot is just a personal preference. A simple, āIām sorry, our policy doesnāt allow us to separate the shotsā would have been perfectly fine. I did not need to be talked down to like that.
Just so you know for the next customer, itās super simple to split your double shot into a single. Pull your double shot the same as usual into any small glass. Give it a quick stir to mix the layers of the shot and pour 1oz out into a shot glass. Now you have a single shot without having to change any settings on your machine. You can even get a porta filter that splits the shots in 2 to make it even easier. They are cheap...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām the kind of coffee connoisseur š always on the hunt for the best and most beautiful coffee shops, and this one truly surprised me. The interior is simply stunning! Thereās a wide selection of coffee and seasonal drinks ā a true paradise for coffee lovers. Comfortable couches, outlets at every table, board games like UNO ā it's the perfect place to relax or get some work done. The high tables are convenient, and the atmosphere is so quiet and cozy.
One of the best features is the large parking area, and you can even order coffee through the window without leaving your car! And for parents, hereās a major plus: the restroom is equipped with diapers and all the essentials for changing your babyās diaper, and it's exceptionally clean.
I confidently give this place a well-deserved five stars! Huge thanks to the owner for taking such great care of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām not sure how I have went so many years loving this place without giving it a review and deservingly so all the stars. Confession: I personally know Darlene - one of the owners - so maybe I am biased, but even knowing the owner doesnāt explain the amazing, warm and loving experience I have had here time and time over - as their team has grown up and graduated and a new regime has been put in place in the circle of life. Darlene and the second owner, Chris, are so committed to our community; their love and passion for everyone who walks through their doors shines through. They are truly salt of this earth kind of folks. I am both humbled and honored to know them and so proud of them and their amazing little coffee shop and for all the good it does - and for making my fave latte and breakfast burritos just perfect every single visit....
