Visiting from Atlanta, we were absolutely starving after a long day exploring Southern California — and then we found Steve’s Char. Let me just say: WOW. This place is a hidden gem that totally hit the spot.
The menu was incredible — from hearty breakfast options to juicy burgers, fresh salads, and even Mexican specials. It was almost impossible to choose, but we finally settled on a feast: crispy zucchini fries, loaded chili cheese fries, a mouthwatering bacon cheeseburger, and a classic chili dog. Every bite was packed with flavor, hot, fresh, and deeply satisfying.
The service? Phenomenal. One of the staff members was so genuinely kind and helpful — it made the experience even better. Fast, friendly, and full of good vibes. The menu was clear and easy to navigate, and to top it all off, their ice cream was the perfect sweet ending.
Honestly, it felt like the food gods smiled down on us the moment we walked into Steve’s on Crenshaw, Torrance. If you're anywhere nearby, don’t miss this place. It’s everything comfort food should be — delicious, filling, and made with love. THANK YOU STEVE'S #1 CHAR...
Read moreI really like the food here. Born and raised in Torrance and this is nice and conveniently close to me. I love the jr.cheeseburger. it's just the right size. The regular sized one is HUGE which is great when your really hungry and it is delicious. I am totally in love with their fried zucchini and onion rings as well. Nothing like em' around here. Gotta love the milkshakes as well. They are a bit expensive but totally worth it. I wish they were open later..I'd be there right now! I'm rating this lovely burger joint 4 stars only because sometimes the employee's are rude and they charge .50 for ranch dressing if you get more than one little cup. That's a little much..but it has a unique and wonderful taste . I have only had a burger I didn't like here once but I believe it was prepared without much attention because they were extremely busy. I totally understand it because they can get very busy here..but that just goes to show you how good...
Read moreI've been to other diners that have been around just as long with comparable prices, but this Steves has fallen short from the others.
The breakfast was bland, pancakes were served without butter on the side and it wasn't available at the counter either. It has pretty much become self served taking what you need when picking up your order.
They have clearly put profit margins above all else, menu prices clearly cover rising costs and then some, but don't serve my hot coffee in a styrofoam cup that bleeds melted toxin. What's one more cup on top of plates to be washed?
I suggested supporting this local business this morning but would much rather take friends and...
