As avid food and culinary aficionados my wife and I are both in the business and this restaurant is at the top of our list especially for BYOB in NNJ. It takes a lot of consistent talent Creativity and hospitality to garner our loyal patronage to a restaurant nearly on a weekly basis. We would likely do daily if we could afford it! Our last holiday party in the Sophia Loren room which didn’t seem so long ago was stellar with rave reviews from our guests capped off by Joe bring fresh roasted warm Italian chestnuts to the table. Such a class act.

Joe and Laura are great people Treating you like La Famiglia and their food and service teams are always on point as we have been loyal customers for over 8 years now. They have just gotten better if that is even possible!

❤️ Even During these stressful crazy times, they continue to reinvent and reimagine themselves in creating a beautiful outdoor respite and oasis to quell and nourish our Mind body and souls! 😍 We Love you guys -thank you from our hearts and Discerning appetites! keep up the passion, hard work and...

We are returning patrons of Spiga. Last night we were a party of 8. While in the early past we rated Spiga 5 stars, last night for New Year’s Eve Spiga fell short for us. The food was tasty but the wow factor was missing the mark. Portions were skimpy and overpriced. Meatball appetizer came out with 3 small meatballs that cost $18. It was actually comical to see. We had to cut them in 1/4 to manage a tiny taste. Clam and calamari appetizer… skimpy. Cedar plank salmon with crabmeat, tasty but skimpy portion… served with a “squirt” of mashed potatoes & a tiny mouthful of broccoli. Pasta dishes looked good and portioned well. Service was just ok. We are going to sit out Spiga for a while. Too many other fabulous restaurants in the area with better value. We give the value a 1-2 star rating. Taste and service 3-4 stars. To the owners, please consider this constructive criticism as we hope to return next time with a 5 star review for you. Last night we leave you feeling an average...

Excellent service & superb food.

We had an 85th birthday party and our server, Frankie, was very attentive and gracious. Deserved and received a well deserved 21% tip.

The food was exquisite! The tuna special was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. The Fra Diavolo was stupendous. Clams and mussels were fresh and sauce was savory with just the right amount of a spicy kick. However, the best meal of the night was the octopus - words cannot describe how great it tastes. Grilled and seasoned like I never had before. The whole family loved this place and we all enjoyed sharing our meals with each other.

Lastly, we asked them to make a cake for the birthday boy. They made a death by chocolate cake that was so rich and chocolatey. If you have any sort of celebration have them make the cake for you. You will not be disappointed.

If you are looking for great Italian food and great service visit Frankie at Spiga in Totowa. I can't...

The service was very good here. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was pretty loud for a nice restaurant and we found ourselves having a hard time hearing each other. The food was just ok. Prices were fair, though and portions were generous. I had the calamari and it was light and tasted great. I would love it if they added spicy peppers to it. The penne vodka had a bit of a burned garlic taste that's still with me the next day. The Napoleon cream was great but the pastry was stale. The Sicilian cake looked great but I didn't taste it. I also didn't taste the rigatoni but it looked good. If that sauce was anything like the marinara for the calamari I would say it was a better choice than the penne vodka.

It was a gorgeous night out and we were driving by and it just looked like a good place to eat. It's BYOB which is a plus so we picked up a bottle of wine from a store just a few minutes down the road. So I guess it's best on the weekend to have reservations which we didn't. The host set up an extra table for us which was nice and we didn't have to wait. The main courses were absolutely delicious. We only chose the homemade pastas. And they tasted homemade. The salad we ordered was lame. Hence the 4 stars. Just expected for a somewhat authentic Italian restaurant to have a better choice of salads and then the ones that they serve to be much better. But we will definitely return, just not order the salad LOL.

First time coming to the restaurant all of our dinners were delicious. The food was served with potatoes and a vegetable and if you get a pasta dish, it is large and has a lot of sauce on it. Very good inside is very small and crowded. I recommend going when you could probably sit outside or go during the week when it’s less crowded, but the food was still good. I definitely will be back.
