In the age where everything revolves around the smashburger, Fat Stu's reminds us that a classic un-smashed burger is still unmatched. Joe and I came here on a suggestion from his sister so we stopped in on a quiet Friday afternoon.
Fat Stu's is quaint and homey, with the classic 50s diner-style theme. There was also plenty of fun Westchester memorabilia mixed in with the other fun decorations. & even though small, they still had booster seats which was great because we bought our little guy along with us.
I ordered the Swiss onion burger, onion rings and vanilla shake while Joe ordered a classic cheeseburger with American cheese and loaded tater tots, minus the bacon. Guys, the food was GREAT. The burgers were cooked perfectly; no need to request a temp because the size is just perfect and they are served on a perfectly toasted potato bun. Let me say this: the burger was so good that Joe ordered a second one take home for later!
My only critiques would be for the tots and my shake. The cheese wasn't completely melted so just a couple more minutes in the oven would've been exactly what they needed. As for the shake, a little less milk. (Expert tip: a little squirt of caramel sauce can take your vanilla shake up a notch-Joe used to work at cold stone back in the day ).

Wait, you’re still reading?! Alright, I can respect that. Either you’re not hungry or I wasn’t adequately convincing. I can’t do much about the former, but I can sure handle the latter! Here are the highlights: delicious burgers (the potato buns alone are worth the price of admission!), incredible, generously proportioned sides (seriously, these aren’t some frozen, run-of-the-mill potato products, these are the real deal! The sweet potato fries were perfect and the onion rings came with a garlic aioli so good I may leave my wife and look into whether I can legally marry a condiment), and - the only disappointment - a surprisingly trim owner named (you guessed it) Stu.
Don’t worry, though. What he lacks in heft, he makes up for in friendliness. He generously offered to give me a beer on the house, but I had to decline! I couldn’t do that to a new mom n’ pop shop! I’m newer to Harrison, but I’m so glad he’s here. Hopefully they’ll be many more burgers and beers in my future!
Hope that was convincing enough! Now go...

I searched and Fat Stu's stood out for me. When I walked in I was back in my youth! The entire place is done so tastefully. The decor is retro and perfectly sone. The owner greeted me warmly, gave me the special even though arrived 15 minuted after the specified time.I told him that my birthday is Wednesday and that he had just given me a gift. Some customers came in and he gave them a discount and they gave me the $5 tip. John wouldn't even take the tip that I offered him. He told 2 other customers that were eating that it's my birthday. Wait!! The food!! Real beef burger, real french fries and the milk shake was better than anything that I had lately!! The food is made to order. No fast food here. John even shared the history of the restaurant. Do yourself a huge favor!! Go visit this establishment. You won't be disappointed! Thank you John. It was a pleasure to meet you. I will definitely...
