Gus's Restaurant — Restaurant in Town/Village of Harrison

Been to Gus’s many times. Usually 2-3 great meals, then one really bad one. Tonight's service started out great - then we somehow got forgotten about. We were the first ones to sit on the patio at 545pm and ordered 20-30 minutes before anyone else even ordered. Last served, as we sat there wearing lobster bibs for 45 minutes looking ridiculous.

We were told 3-4 times that our food was coming and/or it was “being plated” — each time untrue, as the food took 20 more minutes to arrive.

One of the waitresses got particularly nasty when we asked to speak to the owner/manager - and she refused to get her...repeating over and over “your food is being plated”.

Audrey, the owner, eventually came after we were served...but it was a little too late. She was nice and listened, but it couldn’t turn our annoyance with the nasty, nasty server.

Salad, steamers and lobsters were good. Sides cold and not good.

Owner apologized and tried to save the meal with 3 free desserts. All that said, $500+ later for a party of 6....this type of service and overall experience ain’t worth it. We will take another year-plus off from Gus’s and go back to Kee Oyster House in White Plains —- far superior service...

To the owner of Gus’s seafood restaurant- if you’re going to tout having such a great restaurant that is “a neighborhood gem“ make sure that whatever cooks you hired to work on the line will do you proud. What happened today is sad because granted you have many loyal customers, you also need new ones. I planned on bringing my husband and my children back to your restaurant if it was good. But I will no longer do that. I found that your fried oysters was average but the fries were very oily. Your raw clams were good however you obviously cannot compare raw food with cooked. You really need to work on your restaurant’s consistency. We were told by the waiter that your restaurant is definitely inconsistent with the of food it sends out. This is a shame. A truly good restaurant especially with its reputation needs to be able to dish out consistently good food. Yours did not. The seafood platter was so poorly done that it resembled rubber. From what I read in the reviews, we went to Gus‘s restaurant today expecting really amazing food. What we got was mediocre at best. The dish that we received from the broiler station...

Food was ok(fish is kind of plain) although it was very fresh, salad is amazing there. Waitress was very nice very attentive along with the rest of the waitress staff. Bartender was nasty , should not still be working there. I believe his name was 'Tommy-Lee' . My husband and I witnessed him on his cell phone at the bar while he had customers waiting , also cursing behind the bar . Very unprofessional . What was more disturbing was the manager there she just stood there listening to all of this nonsense. The other manager that was an older man was just as bad. He was yelling at the waitress for leaving a glass on a table. Really not a big deal. Just thought management was overall very poor , very negative and thats the last thing I would like to see at a restaurant . It was very sad to watch what this waitress went through. Very unprofessional. My husband and I will not be going back because of the negative things we saw.Also will not be recommending this place...
