Winner of local bagel wars for a reason. But this was years ago when it was Bagel Jay's. Now Brueggers has pretty good bagel sandwiches but they are $2 more than Bagel Jay's. That's about a 40% increase but there is more meat for the money so that's not a big deal. But I waited 44 minutes recently for my Bagel at the Main St store which is just ridiculous. They said they were understaffed, but that is no consolation. to me and all the other customers that were waiting that ridiculous amount of time. Nobody even said sorry about that. I guess it's just an everyday thing for them, so they're used to it. And even though they were busy at the time this was the late morning it was after the breakfast rush and before lunch. It really wasn't super crowded at all. Down the street is Tim Hortons and their bagel Sandwiches are already in under 5 minutes. Every single visit, usually in under three minutes. And they two dollars cheaper. So i'm changing my rating to 1 star. The sad thing is with everybody waiting. That day like I was for 44 minutes. Not a single person on the staff, said. Do I apologize for the weight? It was only after I went up to the cashier. I'm advised. Is this for real? I've been waiting 44 minutes. That she even told me they were under staffed that day. It's like they didn't even care. Does management or ownership read these reviews? If they did, they might do something to improve the way they run their business. But based on all the other complaints about long wait times it doesn't seem that they're aware of it...
Read moreBagels are pretty good. Ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches and a dozen bagel combo. I arrived at around 6:40 am with only 1 person in front of me. I never left until 7:10 am. I received my dozen bagels and cream cheese but had to wait for my breakfast sandwiches. They forgot about my order. The guy that took my order (who I believe may have been the manager) was a prize package. When I first went to place my order, I thought it would be smart to order my sandwiches first so that they could be prepared while the dozen bagels were being bagged. I got snipped at by the man saying to give him my bagel order first and then after realizing my logic, changed his mind. When he saw me waiting at 7:00 am, he asked what I was waiting for. I told him and he said it was being worked on. Five minutes later, he looked at me and asked very rudely what I was waiting for again and I said 2 breakfast sandwiches and very rudely asked what kind. There were only 3 other people that came in after me and they had left, and none of the orders were anything more than bagels and cream cheese. I'd hate to see what happens when it's actually busy. Hopefully they get their act together. I had been at the Hopkins Road location previously and they were fantastic. I went during their grand opening. The place was jam packed and I received my order very quickly. They had their act together. Went to Main & Harlem because it's closer to home, but after seeing the disorder, I'll stick with...
Read moreAwful service. We arrived around 11. Walked up to to counter where about 4 people were preparing food etc. Not one person said hello, but made eye contact multiple times while talking amongst themselves. Talk about awkward. A few minutes later someone finally acknowledged us and asked us what we wanted. We told them.
About a few minutes later a different employee asked us to cash out. We had said we wanted coffee in addition to our order... to which we were rudely asked "in addition to what?". I guess I was supposed to write down my own order? Guy made us feel like jerks and like we did something wrong as he stared at us.
We also came with a promotional coupon for free coffee which, mind you, which was the reason we came in the first place. All over the store was another promotional offer for free coffee, so we were going to get two free coffees. Apparently, that wasnt cool with the guy taking our order. Again, made us feel like jerks for taking advantage of the offers IN the store.
To top it all off. We forgot one of the items in our order, and when it was placed on the counter, the guy insinuated that we were trying to pull a fast one on him and get free food. Again, I guess come with a pad of paper and write down your own order if you plan on coming here.
The most uncomfortable experience I've ever had getting breakfast. Do...
