Magic Twist Shop — Restaurant in Town of Amherst

So excited for a new ice cream and froyo place that's easy to get to. It has plenty of parking, inside and outside seating, and a nice family who owns the place. The ice cream flavors are Hershey's so offer a different variety than all the Perry's places, and I can't wait to see the froyo flavors once they come in. I love that the prices are set/capped so you can get as many toppings as you want and not worry about limiting your kid (or yourself) when those normally increase the price so much. Be sure to look at all the choices before making your selection because the toppings are all along the wall and you'll keep finding more. There's cereals, cotton candy bits, brownie pieces, nuts, Graham cracker crumbs, sauces... It's crazy how many flavors you can make.

And then there are magic tricks and supplies for sale, along with costumes and party supplies to rent out. It's a niche shop...

We went for the 1st time yesterday. We have 3 kids & the older kids loved it. The ONLY complaint i have - is that they charge $3.99 for a little cone, our youngest is 2. I literally ask every ice cream place to stop filling at the rim of the cone so she doesn't get it anywhere. Granted, you make your own dishes or cones there, but they def should consider having a baby price for families. I just think 4.00 plus tax is INSANE for a dinky cone that had hardly no ice cream in it. Now granted the owners might say well we can't monitor what you put in it. But trust that a mom with multiple kids isn't lying to get a cheap price or save a buck. We would probably only go back with our older kids because spending that much on a tiny dollop for a baby is crazy. So consider having a baby price for babies they are pretty busy- they can afford...

I took my daughter here a couple weeks ago. Standard ice cream selection and friendly service, but the portions were small. With so many ice cream shops to choose from, I could choose some place else and get much more for my money. Either this place will not survive because they overcharge, or they will survive because they overcharge, but will not have many repeat customers. I hope they read the reviews and start giving customers larger scoops or lower the prices. The shop is cute and the location is good. It would be a shame for the shop to close because of something that can be...
