Town & Country Meat & Cheese — Restaurant in Town of Amsterdam

Another fail at a BLT. They told me they make the "best" BLTS. and no they don't, not even close. First they forgot the tomato on 2 BLTS. even read the order back to me Because of the complicated ingredients. The bread is very generic, and the Bacon tasted like pure grease. like it was deep fried, reheated and it was all chopped up. Hard bacon not crispy, Absolute Garbage. Again with the cheese, Used 1 slice and cut it in half to cover a 12" sub? WHY!!! Not sure what type of mayo but tasted like a low fat mayo, but overall, it left a very bad taste. I will never go here for breakfast if that's the bacon and bread they use. Also, half the sandwich had more bacon then the other half. they said they use 8 slices of bacon, but I only counted 4. I would like to try other things to maybe give a better review. but this says alot. I had to throw away the sandwich. Mac and cheese was gross. Update, ordered a sub, it was embarrassingly bad. The staff told me its the biggest sub i will ever have, LOL someone needs to tell them how to make a sub. i had to order a 1/4 lb of roast beef so i can add it to my pathetic skimpy sub. they got nerve saying they got the best anything, Do they even...

This place once had good quality food (though pricey). Recently the experience has been mediocre at best. I went there with my Mom last week for a nice lunch and I witnessed the owners give a lashing to a customer who had simply asked for butter on his unbuttered toast and was informed that he had to pay FIFTY CENTS (after having already paid for his bill)...In a very NASTY manner. The customer was clearly and with good reason taken back by the rotten attitude and deplorable customer service. Then the older woman with glasses (one of the owners I believe) started polling other customers.... In a very loud obnoxious manner. As if it was actually REASONABLE behavior for a deli owner. It was TRULY DISGUSTING behavior. The customer is always right...and when you are too cheap to butter your toast at a restaurant...and react with such hostility when a customer asks for that...You need to be in a business that keeps you in a glass box. My Mother and I were really shocked and I will NEVER...

The food is pretty good, but the service is absolutely atrocious. The internet says they are open until 6. I called from 4:45-5:30 trying to put in an order while I was out and about. Finally I decided to go there. Sign on the door said open, other sign said open until 6. First door unlocked, second door lock. I knock on the door, and the people inside completely ignore me. I pound on the door, they definitely heard me. No response whatsoever... This is not the first time something like this has happened either. They make their own hours, they charge prices that aren't consistent with the menu, and they often forget to start a pickup order until you arrive. The food is just not good enough to justify this clownshoes approach to business. I'm done...
