Parker's Grille & Tap House — Restaurant in Town of Arcadia

it's been a year or so since we have visited Parkers in Newark.... passed experience there was without incidence....... last evening was adifferent story..... 1-14-2017...... we stopped in for a bite to eat and shoot some pool.... my girlfriend and I..... while entering in the pool room with the tray of balls we witnessed a young man wrapping up silverware in napkins.....watch him drop some silverware on the floor and without hesitation pick it up and continue wrapping up the now dirty silverware in a napkin ready for patrons..... a liquor glass was on a shelf and by the looks of it, it was clearly been sitting there from the day before..... we received our food and it was good but not as it had been in the past..... the room next to the pool room had patrons in it for a party.... apparently they needed napkins .... so the waitress came over to our table and grabbed the napkins off our table which we still had our food and drinks on and took the napkins we had.... she obviously did not look at them cause them had been used and brought them to the party in the other room..... pretty disgusting...... Parkers in Newark looks like management just does not care anymore about appearance as pool tables are all in need of repair along with the stools that we were sitting on as they are about to fall apart..... behavior like this in the service industry is what brings a business to an end.....Patrons beware of the lack of cleanliness...... feel bad for the person who received the utensils that were on the floor......had to refrain from finding the manager to advise but if they cared they would notice the problems and would be fixing the staff behaviors

I was in town visiting my parents for the holidays and discovered that this place has definitely gone downhill in the past few years, we arrived with almost nobody there as it was before the normal time for a dinner rush. Was met with overpriced food which can be understood with rising costs for restaurants but the menu has definitely changed for the worse. I live in a major metro currently and the prices are cheaper or at least equal for better quality. The food was just not good - bland prime rib, burnt burgers, small portion of chicken fingers were complaints from the entire group. My husband had wanted to order more food for himself but didn’t bother as the service was also inadequate. Nobody came back until we were nearly done eating to check how we were doing or for refills. I heard another party ask where their food was and they were told they’d check to see if it was put in when for the majority of the time before that the restaurant had been nearly empty. Then as we are sitting there with empty plates waiting for the check someone asked if we wanted a refill we would have wanted 20 minutes before. I would have understood the lack of service or they were busy but that wasn’t the case. Will not be back, which is unfortunate with the limited...

I have no clue how this place receives these great reviews. I have eaten at the location in Geneva and Newark and have never received a good meal. Their fish fries are always overdone and have a weird undertone taste to them that I can’t figure out what it is. The pulled pork tastes like the Lloyd’s brand out of a container. Their reubens are always tough. One time at Geneva I ordered a fish fry, I think they must have run out of the real fish fries because I received two perfect triangle small pieces of processed fish that were definitely Gordon’s boxed fish. My husbands grilled cheese was black, he opened up the sandwich and found that even the cheese was all black. My daughter’s Chicken Quesadillas were overdone and filled with canned chunk chicken. This was after we sat there for one hour while people after us received their orders. When we asked about our order, they had lost it and never turned it in. We received a $15 gift card. I used it a couple weeks later for a take out order, which I ordered a burger. When I got home from picking it up, I opened the container to find a burger only, no bun. Who does that?
