Just made an order. Came to around 25$. Food looked great. As soon as we started eating everyone immediately had to spit out what they had in their mouth. It tasted exactly like mold. And not a subtle flavor this was an extremely strong flavor. So we packaged everything back up. Called the restaurant and spoke to a woman, told her the problem and let her know we would just like a refund and we will send everything back rather than having a partial meal. She then put the owner, a man, on the phone. Told him the same thing i told her. He said okay ill be there with the refund. He showed up and i handed him the bag of food and he said he will have to figure out how much he can refund me. I told him we didnt touch anything and that everything was in the bag. He then was like everything? And i was like well yeah i mean what we tried was moldy and we dont want to take any chances and just would like to eat somewhere else where we can have a full meal. He then said that that was too much money to refund. Which he said like 5x. I was like well thats what we paid so i need my money back n that i cant pay for something i cant even eat. He tried talking me into keeping the eggrolls, i said no. He said what about the chicken on a stick? I said no. Then be asked if wed keeo the noodles, i said no. He then got extremely rude and was like well thats just too much money. And i was like well i know thats why we need a refund. He then gave me the refund and was like next time you order we will not give any more refunds ever and that you have to keep the food. I have never in my life dealt with such an unprofessional, rude person. And he kept trying to say i was related to some other customer that has ordered and asked for a refund. And when i told him i wasnt related he just kept asking and even gave me the address. He would not believe me. I will just never order here again. If you order here and its bad do not expect a return and expect to get told youre related to everyone thats ever asked for a refund....
Read moreI've eaten at a lot of asian restaurants around the Rochester area. Tokyo, Sakura place, Sakura house, Plus house and Plum Garden and multiple local chinese restaurants wherever I have lived. I ordered a good amount of food for my family the other night. I had the wonton soup, boneless spare ribs, moo shu beef, sesame chicken, fried dumplings and got an order of free crab rangoons for my purchase.
First, the rangoons were decently sized but the filling was a bit lack luster. It didnt quite have the typical crab flavor that Ive had at other restaurants before and there wasnt much filling either. It was enough to get a taste but the filling could be bulked up about 25% more in my opinion. Next, the dumplings were a good size but the fried bottoms were a little too seared and a touch burnt which offset the flavor a little. The boneless spare ribs were a little sweeter than other places. The portion was a little small again to my taste. The Wonton soup broth just tasted like a watery chicken base stock. As for the wontons, they had little balls of stuffing in them and the dough around them was way too much. The filling needed to be amped about 75% more w/ about 50% less dough pouch. Maybe toss some green onions or mushrooms slices for a little more color and flavor. The Sesame chicken was on the special menu. I expected a little bigger portion but it was typical size and sweet. Ive had it a bit spicier at other places and thats better where its a sweet/spicy balance. Finally, the moo shu beef. Ive had this a Lot and I was a bit dissappointed at the lack of beef in the dish. It consisted mostly of cabbage with minimal thinly sliced beef in it. The hoison sauce was decent. A little different from other places Ive had. The rice papers are the kind I dont enjoy. They are too thin and can easily rip if you arent careful. I do enjoy american chinese as it is really all we have in the smaller towns in this country. Ill still go back and try other menu items but I wont boast...
Read moreYou want some Chinese food? You're like oh alright, I've got three choices here in this amazing town of nerk. Great wall, Ling Ling, or... Great Wall. You're thinking, well I've been to the Great Wall buffet and it was grimey as hell. And I've been to Great Wall by Wendy's and it was meh. Then you're like oh but wait what is this lovely Ling Ling? It's by Parker's! ooo! ahh! Let's check the reviews! Wow everyone has great things to say!
Yeah, they got me too. Let me just say that Ling Ling doesn't even deserve the prestigious title of Chinese food restaurant. I'm fairly confident they actually just take the garbage from the Great Wall buffet's dumpsters, and then store it all in an unrefrigerated cat liter box. It's not Ling Ling's unless it's sat for at least two weeks. Once the ingredients are shriveled and dank do they actually cook with them. It's not cooked at Ling Ling's unless it's devoid of all moisture though. The rice must taste like it's sat out for a week or it's not up to Ling Ling's standards.
I wouldn't even be writing this review if I hadn't given them a few chances either. Every time I get food from there, it's so disgusting I end up eating a few bites and throwing it out. I'm concerned if I actually give it to my dog she will get sick. Do yourself a favor, instead of getting Ling Ling's, go to McDonald's and request the contents of their trash cans. Don't even bother sorting out the actual food, it will still be a better meal then...
