I've been going to Liki for about 7 years. Since I was about 16. Me and my fiance always go to Liki every Friday and a lot of the time on the weekdays for lunch. We went a lot. The food was great, the people WERE very friendly. But this is what the point is. We ordered two green tea ice creams. I was in the middle of eating my great tea ice cream. Never had an issue with this place EVER in my entire life...and when I took a piece of the ice cream in my mouth..felt something very hard and I pulled it out of my mouth. IT WAS A FINGER NAIL!N LIKE WTF. How does someones dirty fingernails end up in ice cream? Out of all places..? Ice cream...I am really really upset at this place. Been going here for years. The owner said he was sorry and someone was cutting nails in the back room..? My fiance even felt what the finger nail was...and he's like yup that is someones finger nail.......let's never come back here again he said. He looked very annoyed. I should have even not paid for the full bill...sushi is a lot of money. AND ALL THEY DID WAS TOOK THE ICE CREAM OFF THE BILL. I CAME HERE A LOT AND THE OWNER SHOULD HAVE BEEN NICE ENOUGH TO GIVE US A FREE MEAL OR NOT EVEN LET US PAY THE BILL! And I didn't leave any tip at all. No one would if they saw what happened that day. So we payed the bill and got our stuff together to leave..and the owner says. "Okay, I see you before Christmas, right..I sorry about that...hahaha..." And we look at him and say.."yeah, before Christmas have a nice night." So that was how my day went that night. If you feel something funny in your ice cream I warned you. And also one time I ordered a dragon roll and the fish tasted like it has been a day older then it should have been. So. Liki Sushi has lost a very loyal and good costumer..OH and the owner gives out Saki and does not even ID anyone. So, if you are a minor he is giving you free booze. And that is illegal for minors. You need to be 21 to...
Read moreThis sounds like a stereotype, but I'll say it anyways: As someone who has lived in Japan and more than enjoyed the food there, I think I pay attention to sushi more than others do. I'll eat rolls and they're fine, but my main order is the plain sushi, the fish on rice.
Liki Sushi has, by far, paid attention to and given me the best quality sushi fish that I have experienced on this side of Long Island. I've been to a lot of Long Island places that serve sushi. Every time I tell people about Liki, they recommend a place on Long Island for me to go to, only for me to try it and have it disappoint me. Liki Sushi is winning fights outside of its weight class. No matter the local joint -- whether it's the neighboring Roppongi, the slightly more fancy The One, or the pricy Blackstone Steakhouse -- they're all beat by Liki Sushi.
Now listen, if you only want rolls stuffed with ingredients and that are drenched in various sauces, Liki does that. Maybe other places do just as well. But when it comes to SUSHI proper? Apart from places in NYC, there is no nearby Long Island Asian restaurant that...
Read moreI usually do not write reviews at all, but tonight we (my boyfriend and I) received such fantastic service that we had to write a review. We had ordered from here once before, and the food was great that we decided to go back here tonight. My boyfriend came back with the food, but in taking the food out of the car the bag ripped and a roll combo fell out and all over the front lawn.
We called to let them know that we would come back with the spilled roll and would appreciate anything that they would do (especially considering that they were busy with it being ash wednesday and valentines day). They were able to make us another roll at no charge, which we sincerely appreciated. We will definitely be going...
