Jims Tastee Freez — Restaurant in Town of Bethlehem

The spiders are out of control. It is sad that I find myself writing a poor review for Jim’s because it has been one of my favorite soft-serve ice cream stands for years. I took out-of-town visitors there in July, only to find that the entire place had been overrun by spiders. I’m talking about something like 1000 spiders or more, running around on webs over every square inch of the ceiling and under the picnic tables. Anyone standing in line was within a few feet of dozens of spiders above their head. We couldn’t sit at the tables because our legs would’ve been in the middle of spiderwebs full of spiders. Our guests took it well, such as they could, but I was wishing I had not brought them there. I was about to try again today, but checked reviews first and found that people have been complaining about the spiders since then up until just three days ago. So apparently it has not been addressed in the two months since I was there with my guests. In addition, the workers on the job that night were so distracted by the conversations they were having with each other that they were very slow and not paying proper attention to the customers, even though there was a line of people waiting. I hope they fix these problems because I would really like to go back...

This place is the best. My parent's stalk it's opening all spring and we visit (probably too much) when I come home to visit. Classic ice cream stand with soft serve: vanilla, chocolate, or twist but they also have rotating flavors like pistachio or black raspberry. And then everything else that can be made from that like sundaes, milkshakes or tornados (ice cream with candy mixed in). They also have lots of great dips that harden like delicious shells (chocolate, peanut butter, cherry, and others I can't remember). Wish I could stop...

The soft serve ice cream is great! The prices are reasonable. As far as flavors go, there are some rotating flavors and variety, but nothing too elaborate. Tasted Freez is in no way the Guptil's of flavor choices. That said, Tastee Freeze is a great small-town ice cream shop. Actually they’re a great ice cream shop, that just happens to be in a small town. If you’re looking for the classic soft serve twist with sprinkles, this is the place for you!
