Bonita Mexican Steakhouse — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

this review was for Take Out only. Now I have eaten in a couple of times. I'd give it a 2 1/2 stars. first sit down visit ; the steak flight is good. I got beef enchiladas and was very disappointed; had no flavor and were dry. didn't come with sour cream or pico or guacamole, which would have helped a lot to cover up the dry tasteless dish. the house margarita was undrinkable for me, leaving half of it. If you can't even make a decent house Margarita.. That's the first bad sign. the strawberry marg is better but too sweet for my taste. queso fondido was tasty but very greasy. orea cookie fried ice cream was very good.

Take out: ordered vegan roasted vegetables tacos based on other reviews. these consisted of mostly onions with very small amount of peppers. although tasty, I prefer more variety of veggies so will not order again. hubby got pulled chicken burrito bowl, which he said was tasty, and portion was nice size. 3rd try take out order : ordered pilled pork taco amd fried calamari taco, both served on uncooked corn tortillas ( I prefer tortillas to be grilled ). not sure what they do to the tortillas beforehand ( steam them?) but they were almost cold and soggy. the pork was a clump I f tasteless meat with the smallest amount of cilantro, onion and queso fresco on top.. it was flavorless. i took one bite of the calamari taco, it was clearly not freshly made as the coating on the fish was hard amd crunchy and the meat was not soft like it should be when cooked fresh. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a day old. the onky other ingredients was lettuce and some sauce. very disappointed. my husband got fajitas, said they were food. son got burrito supremo which was HUGE, the biggest burrito I've even seen. he said ut was ok but a bit dry inside. a good idea would be to oit some of the sauce inside. unfortunately, I...

First time at this establishment, we were seated quickly. Our waiter was great and took our appetizer order and drink order within 15 min. We had our app and drinks which where OK. We ordered our meals and again it was just OK, but nothing we would go back for. It's close to home and convenient, definitely busy so they are doing something right. We are a Hispanic couple and are bias !! Besides that, what really ruined my night was the restaurant running our credit/debit card for the tune of almost 300 dollars, which when it came time to sign our bill, we alerted our waiter. Our waiter went back to the "man" that was running the register/credit card station, he came back with a refund receipt and our actual receipt. I asked when our refund would be given he stated 3-5 days..... R U F KIDDING ME !! Our bill was less than 100 dollars. I was fuming, not one person from management came to apologize or say hey a round of drinks on us or even a dessert on us. NOTHING BUT A HOLD ON 200 HUNDRED DOLLARS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Just and FYI, DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPT. NEVER...

We were greeted upon entering.The waiter let us take our time looking at the menu.We ordered empanadas for an appetizer the cheese and jalapeño was very good the better of the two the pork with plantain was a little dry.The crema it was served with was good but a small portion.The dinners were very good the steak trio and enchiladas.The mashed potatoes I ordered with the steak were fabulous.The sauces that came with the steaks were fine but the steak was seasoned nicely so I did not really use them. It was my birthday so you can scan for a free dessert.We both got flan the classic and coconut.It came with a caramel sauce which we did not like,the coconut flan was delicious.The classic was fine too. The service was good.The decor fine. What stood out was the food and I think the best meal I have had in the area. I will definitely recommend to friends...
