Dublin Deck Tiki Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

Dublin Deck, I find it fascinating when popular retail and restaurant chains or even individual locations like Beefsteak Charlie’s or Big Barry’s go under or disappear and we wonder “what happened?” I think it’s poor management, greed or just loosing touch with their customers or getting so big they become disinterested with satisfying their clientele and consider it minimal loss but you never know who that minimal loss might be. In my recent experience with DUBLIN DECK It’s all of the above. My girlfriend and her daughter (Rocky Point), her sister in-law (Massapequa), my 30 year married friends (Mount Sinai) and myself (Patchogue) all met there to see Drop Dead Sexy (local Long Island band) My married friends arrived approximately 20 minutes before us explained to the waitress that some friends were coming and if they could accommodate and she was more than happy to accommodate and push too high top tables together and then politely gave them a 90 minute deadline, before we even arrived. Once we arrived we were charged a cover charge even though we we being seated for dinner. My married friends had already started having appetizers and had asked for a separate check. My friends at one table and the four of us at another table (high tops pushed together) the food was subpar the drinks were good and the band was excellent. Alley, our waitress, reminded us our time was almost up and we’d have to get up soon even though one of us had just gotten their entrée and wasn’t finished eating yet. When the checks came we were all shocked at the amount of the bill, we had maybe two drinks each, the “3 for $35” appetizer combo, 2 entrées and 2 additional appetizers. Our separate checks had a combined total of approximately $375.00 We asked to speak to the manager so Alley brought over Olivia the “manager”, she explained that we were charged a $60.00 LARGE PARTY FEE and “that’s what a lot of places charge now”. I explained we had separate checks and that we arrived at different times and that the amount was a little ridiculous, she preceded to get one of the owners, Mackenzie. Olivia returned to inform me that Mackenzie didn’t feel it was necessary to come and speak with me, I though that couldn’t be any less professional and dismissive. This is a straight up money grab nothing more, nothing less. If I remember correctly the two original owners used to work at Cavanaugh’s in Patchogue back in the 80s and got together and started the Dublin Branded Bar Chain, and at its peak exploded into Dublin Deck, Dublin World and Dublin Down. All have closed with the exception of Dublin Deck. Never forget where you came from and how you originally built your company and most of all never forget who got you there.. your customers. i have had a terrible customer service experience. a close friend of mine’s birthday was yesterday. myself and multiple people called the restaurant thursday night because two people in our party are under 21 and i wanted to check if we would be able to come for dinner- as it is not exclusively a bar/club, i made it explicitly clear on the phone we would be coming after 8 and that the two of us would be coming for dinner. i would like to add that no where on their webaite is this policy posted. I was told by two separate people on the phone that for a sunday night we would be all set to come for dinner. I understand and wanted to be respectful of the guidelines and rules regarding age restrictions in an establishment and was completely fine with rearranging plans. they had already allowed two people under 21 to enter and join the group however when one of the 20 year olds arrived late she was denied access, even after explaining that we had called ahead of time.the bouncer was also extraordinarily rude and yelled in the birthday girls face when she was also trying to explain the situation to him which is inexcusable when she was being calm and respectful herself. i immediately called the restaurant as i was on my way and do not live around here, i asked why my friend was denied entry and why 2 people would tell me in the first place that we would be able to come. at no time did i feel like there was any attempt to solve this situation, or provide any insight why this issue occured in the first place. its completely unacceptable and unprofessional that this happened because if i had been told on Thursday when i called that we would not be aloud, we would have picked a different place to go. it just seems like the restaurant wanted my parties business more than they cared about accommodating me and my entire party. i paid a 60$ uber to get there to immediately have to get in the parking lot and order another one directly home. in total i have lost over 120 dollars in a situation that was entirely avoidable if proper communication and care was given to this situation. this could have been prevented. it is completely unacceptable that this happened. do not go here or give your business to this...

Tonight I had my last straw … Where do I start…. Let’s talk about valet and the fact that I just got a ticket because you guys forced me to park on River Avenue and tell the cops that you guys do not even though there’s over 40 cars down that way and now I have a ticket but you guys let everybody else park so I just don’t understand the methods you guys have to this facility it is completely unprofessional and it’s just so horrible the way this is ran if you’re going to have a high occupancy restaurant in Bar dont you need to have the occupancy for these cars? Shame on this place you should be paying my parking ticket. Honestly, it’s funny that you guys told the cops that you tell the valet not to tell us to park down there when they directed me to park down there and watched me get out of my car and did not even say a word. Not even that that it said the lot was full but there was over 20 open parking spots when I arrived at 10 PM. Maybe you should have adults controlling parking not 14 year old boys with nasty attitudes and no care in the world … so now I pay my parking ticket and it’s what ever but like damn I shouldn’t need to because your valet staff directed every car possible that way. What ever just something new each time no clue how you could make this better (lol never got a response back after writing “more detail” but not like they care it’s patchogue it’s for 21 year old this bar LMAO 🤣 ) if you’re someone who just wants to have a good time with your friends and you don’t want to wait on a line for an hour to be told they won’t let anyone else in … just don’t come here upgrade ur life to the city people tikis even better then deck 😇 ps google we need a 0 star button cause this facility gets 0 stars from...
