Disappointing, felt mislead. I had high hopes when I found out another Thai restaurant was opening as the options in our area are very limited. I ordered the Thai Spring Rolls, Crab Rangoons, Drunken Noodle, Stir Fried Basil, Tom Yum Soup, and a Thai Tea. When I was ordering the guy on the phone was impatient with me. He seemed annoyed that I had more items on my list and had an attitude. When I tried calling back to add another item he placed me on hold for about 10 minutes and then hung up on me. When I arrived the food was still being prepared, I get it, lunch rush. After waiting 10 minutes my food was finally ready.
When i returned home I opened the bag to find out they forgot my Tom Yum Soup and want me to drive 15 minutes to go pick it up. The Thai Spring Rolls were so oily and all i could taste was grease. The Crab Rangoons were meh, would be better if they used actual crab instead of imitation meat, there was hardly in it other than cream cheese.
I had high hopes for the Drunken Noodle as the menu pictures on their website looked good. What I received instead looked nothing like the pictures. Instead of the wider noodles they had these thin noodles and they didn’t give me any limes as pictured. The sauce was nonexistent and it was BLAND! No color. The Stir Fried Basil also nothing like the photos. All It had was onions and hardly any basil, the sauce was also too sweet. The portion size was a joke. For $13 I would hope I’d get more than 3 bites. And the rice seemed very stale and stuck together. Finally the Thai Tea was watered down and had no taste.
After spending $70, I would have expected better. The fact that they don’t use their own pictures is a giveaway. Overall a very...
Read moreI’ve had Thai Smile 6 times now and it seems to be on a steady decline, the first time I visited the portion I received was well worth it, easily two meals had it not been so tasty and perfectly cooked. I will not deny that each visit was a very flavorful experience. However the last 3 times I’ve noticed less vegetables , then less overall portion and the last I went was today (late July) I ordered the red curry with chicken, and my girlfriend got Pad Pak with beef. The red curry looked so different from the menu I questioned the waiter if they served me the correct dish, which I obliged even though it was yellowish white in appearance, fine. Once I began eating I noticed there were only 2 slices of bell pepper, maybe 1/3 a breasts worth of chicken, a couple basil (I think) leaves and the rest onions in mostly soupy broth. Overall it was tasty but it missed the mark. My girlfriends Pad Pak looked like a full plate loaded with vegetables but she kept saying the beef didn’t taste right, then she showed me the middle of one of the pieces of beef and it was very undercooked. She left 3/4 of her meal untouched on her plate. When we checked out I told the waiter in the most polite and constructive way I could muster of the experience hoping that they could re make her order but instead we got a few apologies and charged in full. I understand that it’s tough for small restaurants to dial in portion sizes and all you can’t serve undercooked meat and...
Read moreI wanted to take photos for my review, but as soon as I got home and opened my order, I immediately started eating. The milk tea is exactly what you'd expect, sweet and comforting with an option for boba pearls. The chicken teriyaki potstickers were absolutely to die for, and there are 4 in each order. They tasted amazing on their own, but when dipped in the provided sauce, it became heavenly. I got drunken noodles with a spice level of 2 (out of 10), which did have a slight kick, but that was to be expected. There was so much food in a single order that I'll have leftover for lunch and possibly dinner tomorrow. It's definitely a good deal for the price. I would highly recommend Thai Smile to any Canton resident, as their menu is very inclusive, and there is definitely something...
