We’ve been coming to this ice cream shop since it was Morgan’s, and now as the Frozen Spoon it’s become one of our favorite family-friendly spots in town. They’ve done a great job updating it—the outside looks welcoming, the inside is bright and cute, and they even added air conditioning for the employees, which is a nice touch. The whole shop feels fresh, clean, and inviting.
Prices are very reasonable, especially for families with kids. The children’s cones are super affordable, which makes it easy to say yes to an extra scoop or two. The ice cream is tasty, portions are generous, and it’s the kind of local dessert place you’ll want to come back to again and again.
The location is also perfect—right near the library and village park, a block from the bank, and within walking distance to other downtown shops and restaurants. We usually make a whole afternoon out of it: visit the library, check out the farmers market, run a few errands, and then end with ice cream for the kids. We were impressed with the reasonable...very reasonable price...it's very rare in the North Country area. We've also met the pleasure meeting the owner. She was very accommodating (we ordered ice cream w/ a cone, but also asked for a cup). Furthermore, the shop chooses to use paper cups and wood spoons...so much better than the plastic stuff.
