First timerâs~ was hopeful but was disappointed! Standing waiting for a table that was empty when we came in, gift shop was more like garage sale items. The decor was nice and staff was very nice even with the overwhelming amount of customers cramped in room. We waited over 30 minutes for appetizer ofâhummusâ which was underwhelming tastes of just crushed chickpeas without any tahini or lemon or flavor. The soup was potato or roasted cauliflower which didnât matter because my mom ordered the cauliflower got the potato and vice versa with another guest perhaps garnish soup differently. I enjoyed potato soup after I got it reheated the portion was very filling I didnât enjoy texture of herb scone it was rubbery(my guests did enjoy it) I expected the coronation chicken salad to be flavorful but fell flat the chicken needed salt and pepper which wasnât on table and small pieces of celery and curry that had more color then flavor. Normally tea rooms chicken salad are the most popular item on menu adding dried/fresh fruit and nuts and well seasoned chicken. We waited for so long for food that the finger sandwiches guests ordered changed by the time they got them. The staff was attentive in clearing used dishes and drink specials was fun and whimsical. By the time we finished halfway with sandwiches we just wanted to leave and we were so looking forward to dessert or scone but the shuffling around chairs and tables back and forth with a very crowded room wasnât a nice experience it was hard to hear each other and especially the waitress. We all agreed we wouldnât make the trip again(60minutes) just to come here. I would come maybe in nicer weather when patio is open so we are not all packed in one room and not on weekend. The staff is 4 stars and adorable chinaware table settings, menu is great for variety plenty of tea options But communication, service, atmosphere, flavor...
Read moreI can't say enough about Florrie Kayes. The food is fresh, delicious, and filling. The whole place transports you to a garden tea in the English countryside. With so many tea selections, it would be impossible not to find one you like. Afternoon Tea is a wonderful deal: sandwiches, scones, desserts, a pot of tea, and a complementary Prosecco! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the gift shop is a wonderland of unusual items. If I lived closer, I'd go every week!
Well, it's 2 years later and I'm updating my review. It may be a little redundant, but here goes.. September 25, 2020 If I lived closer, I'd be here every day!!! From the time you're greeted upon entering until the time you leave, you'll have a wonderful day. The tea selection alone is so extensive, you'll have quite a time choosing one. The menu is perfect for anything from a quick bite to a delicious meal. There are some seasonal items as well as specials to choose from. I could go on forever about all the items; I especially recommend the coronation chicken salad on the zucchini bread, warm sausage roll, any salad...even the side cucumber salad is tasty and I don't like cucumbers!! Make sure you leave room for dessert. I have tried every one on the menu and can honestly say, you can't go wrong with any of them. Their scones are so good, especially the sweet scone of the day! When it's chilly outside, their soups are really satisfying and will warm you up. The decor is quaint and homey. The staff extremely friendly; ready to answer any questions and make suggestions. They even have a selection of hats you can wear to complete your tea room experience. Don't forget to check out the gift shop before you leave. Florrie Kaye's is...
Read moreWe recently hosted my sister-in-lawâs bridal shower at this tea house, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive without ever feeling rushed. Everyone raved about the quality of the lunchâthe food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The tea selection was incredible, with so many different varieties to choose from, making it fun for guests to try something new.
The private event space was so charming and cozy, the ideal backdrop for a special celebration. Samantha, the owner, was truly a joy to work withâshe was responsive, helpful with planning details, and clearly passionate about making the day special. You can tell this is a family-run business where the staff genuinely enjoy what they do. That positive energy shines through and made the whole experience feel warm and personal.
Throughout the shower, guests kept commenting on how lovely everything was and how much they enjoyed themselves. It really was a day to remember, and I couldnât recommend this tea house enough for anyone looking for a unique and delightful event space.
The ladies who work they were so helpful and accommodating, from cutting some fresh flowers from the front garden to put on the tables, to even helping set up the favors we brought in.
So if you are looking for a fun day, a private event or just meeting someone for their tea service, don't hesitate! Samantha and her crew really let the passion for the business...
