20+ years of living in Mahopac/Carmel and finally decided to give this place a try … only to never come back again. We politely let the waitress know our margarita pitchers were tasteless (almost watered down) and she gave us a long lecture of how we should’ve told her we wanted freshly made margaritas because that’s an additional cost. I apologized for assuming their drinks were made fresh to order …. She tried making it up to us with an additional shot to add but that didn’t help the taste either - we just pushed them off to the side as we waited for the Paella for 2. She continuously consulted her coworkers and we received harsh stares from the staff for the remainder of our time there, not very professional nor friendly. The paella comes out looking very unappetizing - the “lobster tail” was chewy and grey in color, the steak was tough and the “Mexican chorizo” was dark grey and reheated in a microwave. Our paella was left as received and we asked for the check. No more complaints were made, we just wanted to pay and go get real food somewhere else. The waitress sends over a man (manager/owner?) who rudely approached us asking what the problem was with us and why we didn’t like anything. I explained the one complaint about the drinks and told him we no longer wanted to complain and we wanted nothing for free. He took our paella to the back so he could “taste if it was actually bad” and we told him that was fine. We were charged for everything and given nasty stares as we left. I hope the management takes this review into consideration as their business is in a very great community. We entered with all the intentions of adding another favorite restaurant to our list and left with a bad taste in our mouths and -$90. Went over to Tijuana in Mahopac for authentic Mexican food and a delicious...

Read moreI have been wanting to visit here. I've seen all the wonderful reviews. So today my boyfriend and I went. The inside was beautifully decorated. I was excited to order. I ordered a ceviche appetizer. You could tell the shrimp had been boiled then tossed with lime juice and cilantro. It was not prepared as a typical ceviche. It had no flavor whatsoever. How could you mess ceviche up? So I ordered fish tacos and my boyfriend ordered beef. The server came to the table with 2 tiny street tacos, rice and beans on the each plate. My boyfriends beef taco had about a table spoon of beef on each taco. This was also bland. I looked at mine and the server had brought me shrimp instead of fish. He apologized. My boyfriend finished eating and then mine came. Absolutely horrible. The fish tasted terrible and bland. I got home and my stomach has been killing me since lunch. To top it off our bill was 50 dollars. I would not have cared if it was good. I wish I would have gone to shop rite and made my own mexican cuisine for lunch. I will never eat here again and it still blows my mind, of all the good reviews. My advice, dont walk thru the doors unless you want food poisoning and an...
