I'm giving two stars strictly for the building and decor, and the food we DID get. The building is really nice to look at, and the interior decor was well planned...
However... The waitress, was terrible, she didn't know the menu, and when you asked about an item she asked (constantly) "do you want me to go check?" To all the tables she waited like it was a big hastle.
The floors were dirty, honestly all they had to do was sweep. On kid was wandering about carrying water (not even pouring, the waitress did that) who could have done wonders for the floors. The glasses we got one chipped, no big deal, but the replacement was a little bit gross.
Additionally the bathroom, was a little... Lacking, instead of changing the TP they started stacking, which I laughed, but then the water pressure in the sink was barely a trickle, told the waitress, she brushed it off "yea we know".
When the good arrived it LOOKED amazing, the presentation was beautiful. However we had specifically asked if an item contained a specific ingredient, were told no and it came out after a long wait (for a diner) and in fact was coated with the ingredient. When the waitress came back, she had a horrible attitude asked if we wanted something else, we said no, and she responded "well the food comes out fast here" over all made the situation worse. We had said no, and she was pushy, and no the food was not fast. Nothing was fast, even taking or orders, but we were on vacation and were just relaxing.
The other meal though MISSING one item was fine, we were frustrated, took it to go. We did try this later, and it was quite good, so kudos to the chef!
Over all the food looks amazing, and what we tired was quite good, the decor is good, but would...
Read morethe food is good, the view of the creek is even better. my problem is the pricing, especially of their drinks. they really should either serve in bigger glasses or do free refills or something or just bring their costs down, it's absurd what they're charging. the food cost is high but not as offensively high as the beverages. and then when you order the fun boozy ice cream drinks that's where you really get ripped off. even if everything is premium, a small scoop of ice cream, an ounce or two of vodka (also, why vodka?! and if you ask them to sub for another liquor it's $$) and a few ounces (probably 2-3) of root beer in a small parfait glass does not demand a $10 price tag to make a profit. it's like they only want tourist traffic and no locals with that kind of pricing. i don't see how that kind of mentality is good for business. i know a lot of people who live nearby and don't go because it's too expensive, there's other places with great fried chicken for a lot less nearby. service is hit or miss, when it's good it's great, when it's bad you're just totally forgotten. btwn my husband and i we've had a good chunk of the menu at this point and it's also hit or miss, we now stick with what works, however when they have specials those are often pretty good. i just wish the pricing were more reasonable, i'd be there a lot more often and my check would ultimately be higher because i'd be ordering more and not feeling resentful about it. if it weren't for the view and the limited options in the area i would've written this place off the second time we had crummy service and overpaid for just good enough food. but, there's more competition opening all the...
Read moreWe were from out of town so I picked a place according to the reviews, which were great. We were very disappointed. My hamburger was literally "two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun." The patties were 1/4" thick each. They didn't ask how I wanted it cooked, and I realized why when I saw it. All of the diners and restaurants we go to where we live (1-1/2hrs from there) serve a big, fat, juicy, cooked-to-order burger -- and it's hot. There were a lot of fries, but they were also like McDonald's - very thin and many of them were only 1/2 to 1" long. In fact, McDonald's are better. And the ketchup wasn't ketchup. It was plain tomato sauce. My husband said his fish sandwich was ok. My burger and fries was $17 and all the great burgers and fries near us are $13-16. I also asked for no sauce on my burger, but it was on there anyway. They offered to make me another one, but my fries weren't hot when they brought them, so I said it was fine, but he should at least tell the kitchen about their mistake. They gave me a free donut, which was delicious, and their fresh squeezed lemonade was also delicious. While we were eating a couple walked by our table leaving and I heard the woman say, "I picked a place close to 87 and this one had great reviews." You don't say that unless you are trying to defend yourself for picking the wrong place. The service was great, and the restaurant, including restrooms, was very clean, and parking was...
