Pomodoro's Italian Eatery — Restaurant in Town of Catskill

I do not like to come on and leave negative reviews because I don't feel a business should suffer over one employee's bad day BUT tonight upon returning home with my pick up order there were half mushrooms and onions and peppers half cheese (which can we talk about how ridiculous it is to charge one dollar for a topping on a basically personal pan (their small 12" 4 slice size pizza). When I said there were mushrooms, but mushrooms were not supposed to be there and we were charged for it. I was told they ordered mushrooms. My intelligence was insulted because I was present when the order was made and in fact no mushrooms were never mentioned (P.S. in 6 years never ever once have mushrooms been ordered nor would they ever be so it's not like oh pepperoni unknowingly slipped out on accident could be my fault) .After calling me a liar I said I was just calling to see if my dollar could be refunded to my card that I didn't want a whole new pizza and that if it couldn't be refunded in the reality, it really was no big deal but it was worth a try. I was met with complete rudeness just a no and I said ok that's OK it's fine don't worry about it. Have a good night. I was pleasant the whole time and all I got was yup and a hang up. You could at least attempt to act halfway cordial after I was pleasant and jovial even after being called a liar and my order being screwed because mushrooms are hated. Working in retail I know how easy it is to refund money to a card. Ordered a large pie, chicken parm hero and a small salad, for take out. When I got home, noticed small salad was missing, I called and girl said I should come back and get it. Being out of town, I said I can't, but write it down so next time I come, you have note of it. I called tonite to place order for small pizza and said that I have credit for small salad to guy that answered. He told me that that i would have to talk to manager about missing salad and said ok, I will. I got there, noticed STUCK DOOR still not fixed. I told girl at register my name for pick up and proceeded to say I was told to ask for manager about missing salad from last order. One girl from a group of 5 girls scurrying around the ovens and preparing orders approached me and asked me to go into detail about the missing salad. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!?? IT'S A SALAD! I AM NOT ASKING FOR MISSING LOBSTER DINNER!! 2 girls proceeded to pull out a binder in front of me, which looked like all food discrepancies were kept in. They finally found me. After another 10 mins. Of waiting I was handed what looked like a "SIDE" salad, squeezed into a small sauce container. I told her I had ordered a "small" salad. She said what I got, was what I ordered. I didn't feel like wasting time over "salad" so I told them to nevermind and I left. I'm very happy that new businesses are coming to town. See revised review/ addendum. We eat here often when we visit Catskill. This is a nice family-oriented restaurant. There are booths and tables to accommodate any size family. The food and service are consistently excellent with a variety of typical italian dishes on the menu. The pizza, calzones, sandwiches, main dishes, and wraps are all excellent. You will not leave hungry. There are daily specials posted on a chalkboard near the front door. During the summer months it tends to be crowded at peak meal times, but quality of the service and food never seems to vary from excellent. They offer anything on the menu to go, as well. Prices are moderate. Pass by those fast food places along 9W and visit Pomodoro's instead. For a few extra dollars you'll have a real meal deal. Recommended. 4-15-23, 7:30pm. We walked out after a 30 minute wait. 4 adults and a two year old child. Numerous other groups were seated with no reservations. Seems were just forgotten and ignored by the hostess.
