I had really high hopes for this place, and it seemed like it was a relatively decent price of $32.95 for all you can eat for an adult on a weekend. This was what was listed on the website and on the door when we were walking in for the first time. We sat down and we were told by the waitress it was actually another $4 or $5 per audlt because of it being Valentine's Day, but this was not listed anywhere on the website, or on the door upon entering. I like fish, but my fiance doesn't eat fish, and there were very few options for him in the sushi department that also catered to only vegetarians. He still made it work, nonetheless. As someone who loves fish and eats it regularly, I was super disappointed with the taste of most of it; it did not taste fresh at all.. some of it sadly even tasted bad. There were bones heavily intertwined in one of the pieces of it that I grabbed from the buffet (mind you, the type of fish wasn't even labeled, though it seemed to look fine in the buffet bar until I sat down to eat it). The cheesey crab was cold and tasted bitter as well. My fiance got sake before we even got up to get our food, and the waitress took a fairly long time to come back around, and said that they weren't able to give him the one he asked for, and said she just went ahead and put in an order for one that "tasted similar" and it was just bottled sake; not a made in house sake like he had ordered. At the end, the total was a whopping $89. My fiance tipped the remaining amount he had set aside for what ended up being a very subpar dinner, because the cost ended up being more than what we were made aware of prior to arriving, where neither of us had any urge to get more than a plate and a half of the food; the waitress acted very strange about it and made my fiance feel uncomfortable, so he ended up handing her the last $2 he had. The atmosphere was cool, but I would never ever go back, especially for the price combined with the taste of the food. Oh well. You...
Read moreTwo import things to know: If you don’t like seafood, this is not the place for you. There are other options, but they are limited. The vegan options are very limited. I have eaten at many seafood buffets in Myrtle Beach, and in terms of the seafood kept on the steam tables, this place suffers from the same problem: food may come out of the kitchen perfectly prepared, but when it sits on the steam tables, the quality degrades quickly. This is especially true of seafood. If you want a high quality seafood experience, go to a restaurant that prepares to order. This restaurant is very modern looking and very clean. The servers were attentive without being intrusive. The salad bar and cold seafood section looked very fresh, and the cold shrimp were plump and tender. I went on a Tuesday evening and it was not busy. I had some sushi, one labeled “tempura roll” the other had no label but looked & tasted like cooked salmon. Both tasted fresh, but the sushi section suffered from a lack of labels. The hot & sour soup may have been their best offering, spicy but with underlying flavor to the broth. Unfortunately, they do not serve the crispy noodles many people are used to putting in their soup. The standard Chinese buffet offerings were very limited, and if that’s what you want, I would recommend going elsewhere. The vegetable lo mein was short on vegetables, the “lemon-pepper chicken” didn’t look or taste like it, and the stir fry vegetables were just bok choi. All of which were tasty. Also on offer, beef & broccoli, BBQ spare ribs, scallops, clams, mussels and much more. While they offer take out, they have no provision for soup containers, which was disappointing. I did enjoy my meal (and the lobster!), and left satisfied, however, I don’t feel a...
Read moreI went here recently with my friend and I did really enjoy this place. My server Jenna was very nice and attentive and the manager Be (I have no idea if that is how to spell the name my apologies) was super funny and I loved that he was walking around and interacting with the guests. On to the food, I do agree with some comments that some of the food was cold. I found that to be especially true with the seafood boil which I did like although cold, I would skip the corn as that was not great. My other big complaint is that most of the sushi was unlabeled so I had no idea what I was grabbing. 2 other very nitpicky items were the sushi rice was over worked and pretty mushy on the nigiri and one of the rolls seemed to have tempua soft shell crab and that didn’t taste right. I did love most of the food especially the crab legs and the sushi! I forgot to take photos of everything I grabbed but I definitely went back multiple times for the sushi and the seafood boil. I do wish I had gloves for that as I got pretty messy. The other thing I loved was the allergy warnings they had at the table, as someone with a severe nut allergy I was so happy that they didn’t serve walnuts or cashews and seeing that tree nuts was not written down as an allergen in this restaurant made me feel so much better. I do remember seeing peanuts as an allergen so if you are allergic to peanuts proceed with extreme caution.
This was much better than I had expected and I will totally be going back here in the future! Would give 3.5 stars...
