Buffalo Brewpub — Restaurant in Town of Amherst

My wife and I decided to try the Buffalo Brew Pub since we were visiting the area. We were seated at 2 different booths that couldn't accommodate a small child since both of the patrons on either side were quite large and pushed back to fit in. We were then given a table. Our waitress Beth came passed us and announced she would be back in 'at least a few minutes' , 5 to be exact. I ordered a beer and my wife asked for a sample, Beth returned with both and left immediately before my wife could make a decision, and we didn't see her for another 10 minutes. When she finally returned she took her drink order and we asked Beth to take our food order. I ordered a bowl of the Buffalo Chicken soup and I told by Beth 'You do know a bowl is bigger than a cup, right?' I'm not sure if I was insulted or belittled. My wife then ordered a bowl of the french onion and pizza logs and explained we would like our soups first, then the appetizer. Beth then got belligerent and asked her 'Is that all you're eating?' Not sure what we ordered and how we wanted it was angrily questioned, my wife said yes. My daughter arrived and gave her food and drink order that went surprisingly smoother. My daughter later ordered a second drink and before my wife was able to also order a second, Beth ran off without even acknowledging her. We were able to stop her about 5 minutes later and get a 2nd drink. As our meal came to a close, my daughter asked for a to go cup to take home her soup of which half was left, Beth said 'there isnt that much left' and my daughter insisted. Overall the food was very good, but very disappointed with our waitress and our experience. Maybe if she spent more time serving and less time chatting with people she knows at one booth, she may be a more friendly and...

First let me say, I used to be a server and bartender, so I have patience when it comes to service. Unless they are really bad. That was my experience here. Went here with my family and upon walking in the hostesses were talking to each other and didn't even acknowledge us for a couple of minutes. We were given a table that was tucked in a corner. It was not a great place for a table. We then waited 15 minutes for our server to great us. We placed our drink orders and I said I was looking over the menu. She brought us our waters 5 minutes later and said so you want to hear the specials or just order. Well ok then. i ordered and asked what beer is popular here. She said their house made amber, the wheat, and bud light... I said I'd like the amber and she asked if I would like a sample to make sure I would like it. I said yes please. My wife's dish came with a starter salad. She got it and put her dressing on it. Not even taking a bite of her STARTER salad, the main course came. The other waitress that delivered the food said well sometimes these things happen and placed her food down. The food was ok. Son said his kids burger tasted funny, my fish was good, daughter had the Mac and cheese which was ok, wife food was cold because she was trying to eat her salad. The table was so small she had to actually hold her salad to eat it. But I never received my taste of the beer nor the one I had ordered. Our waitress was more concerned with the other tables than OK. Also, we were never told they have popcorn and peanuts in the back to munch on. We ended up going here due to high recommendations. It is a Friday during lent and I was set on doing the haddock. Well when asking the waiter who did a fantastic job told us that the burgers were the best thing on the menu, he pretty much sold us on the idea of not having fish during lent. The waiter told us they were almost perfectly cooked every time. Well maybe since it was a Friday during lent they had a different cook there or something because these burgers were burnt and had no seasoning taste to them at all. My daughter had a medium rare burger which had no pink whatsoever and I had a medium temperature burger which had no pink in it and my wife had a medium Well burger which had more pink than our burgers which were supposed to have pink. Honestly, the menu states it is seasoned with spices and all and I barely tasted anything but burnt ground meat. Maybe we just had a bad experience for our first time there, but we don't think we will be back after how bad the food tasted our first time. The waiter was excellent and the manager was fantastic too. We told them multiple times we didn't want a discount or anything, we just wanted to let them know about our experience. The manager still took our burgers off our check which we really appreciate, but did not need.
