W.o.w (Wonderful, Outstanding, Welcoming).... Oh my! I can't even fully articulate the unbelievable loving experience we just had this afternoon at Da Nando!
What started out as a much needed simple lunch date with my husband turned out to be one of THE BEST lunches EVER.
We walked in to instantly be greeted by three wonderful men. Nando, owner, and leader carefully explained the variety of choices. He started by explaining the handcrafted process of creating each sandwich (including the high quality, authentic, and imported Italian ingriedients that they only use). "It all starts with this," he said, all while holding up a homemade bread (comes in white or sourdough) that becomes the vessel (or shall we say canvas) for each sandwich. Each sandwich is hollowed out then stuffed to abundance with either a make your own (you select everything and as much of evetything) or one of the signature sandwiches. My husband went for the signature meatball sandwich after Nando explained in great detail my husband knew instantly he had to order it. I opted for the build your own. Nando quickly got to work letting me select everything I wanted. From the homemade pesto, imported cheeses, a variety of meats, imported olive oil, caponata, artichokes, roasted red peppers, Etc. They then finished my sandwich off with a balsamic reduction and some freshly grated cheese.
My husband's meatball sandwich with stuffed beyond abundance with beautiful, succulent, juicy, flavorful, meatballs. The homemade marinara with it was the perfect icing on the cake. It paired so well with both the flavors of bread and the meatballs. My husband knew within the first bite that it was simple perfection and needed no further additions.
We sat down and enjoyed our lunch. As much as we we're blown away by the food we certainly were further blown away by the service and atmosphere. Nando is a true gift. As he said when we walked in (before he explained to the menu) he said his mission was to not only fill our tummies but to fill our hearts as it was about the "experience not just the food." One might say the food alone IS an experience but it is Nando's loving heart and mission to serve and share his faith through the atmosphere, food, and his words that made this lunch exceed our expectations. He and Da Nando were just what our hearts and bellies needed. We came as hungry first-timers and left with hugs, selfies and we were sent off like family! 💜 Oh and FULL bellies!
Attached are pictures we took. Of course we didn't stop to take pictures of the food and our sandwiches because they were just too good and we were to eager to eat! We barely came up for air once we started! Lol
One really beautiful thing is this wall Da Nando has. Take a moment if you can and read it. It is beautiful! Right next to it is a picture of all the moms that have passed on. What a beautiful tribute!
Thank you gentleman ("the three wise men" is what I now call them) for the BEST afternoon! God bless each of you! WE WILL BE BACK SOON!!!!!

Read moreda Nando’s has become a must eat at whenever I come to Weather New York. As my neighbor who enjoyed dinner with me said, “You can’t find this type of experience at very many places these days and the food is outstanding!”
Nando was there to greet us and to make us feel like family. Since my friends were eating here for the first time they were given a sample of the cheese and meat, which probably hooked them for life!!
I already knew how amazing the cheeses are and the meat is beyond incredible!! Since during my first visit Nando urged me to try the meatballs that was my choice tonight and my friends each ordered the Nando Royal. Anyone walking past our table heard the MMMMM’s and saw the smiles on our faces. Oh so good … such perfect sandwiches.
The food is awesome but the personalities behind the counter make the experience even better. Nando pulled up a chair and joined us for a conversation about … well about everything. He was curious about us and we wanted to learn more about him. Tonight was verification that in today’s world people can just enjoy being with other people no matter where they come from.
I told Nando, that I have plans to return with my brother to put mom’s photo up on the wall with the other mothers. We did some debate about the placement but I think I know where mom will go (da Nando’s will put your mother’s photo on their wall and play your mom’s favorite song as the photo goes up.).
The dining area is rather small but it’s comfy. The one critique is that you have to look carefully to find da Nando in this plaza that I still refer to as “Grant City.” But, spot the tire shop and look to its left to discover this amazing sandwich shop that will have you returning to time after time.
And, Nando reminded us “You have to come on Wednesday’s and try the Meatball Marsala sandwich!” I just might … but I need another one of the Royal’s.
A word of advice … the small is really filling but what the heck … order the large and go for a walk it is...

Some sandwich shops fill an order. da Nando in Clarence, NY, makes you feel like you’ve stepped into an Italian family’s kitchen — and they’re making your sandwich exactly how you want it. This family-owned, family-operated shop has an old-school Italian deli-style assembly line where you can see every step of your order come to life. But don’t confuse “assembly line” with impersonal service — here, it’s a front-row seat to watch true craft in action.
When I walked in, I was greeted like family. The air was rich with the scent of freshly baked bread, sharp imported cheeses, and perfectly cured meats. Everything in this shop is brought in directly from Italy — the meats, the cheeses, the seasonings — and you can taste the difference.
I ordered a custom sandwich with tender, spicy capicola and rich, savory sopressata. I watched as the fresh loaf was sliced open, layered generously with my chosen meats, topped with crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and paper-thin onions, then finished with sharp provolone and a luxurious drizzle of sweet, tangy balsamic. Each bite was bold, flavorful, and perfectly balanced — the slight heat of the capicola playing against the deep, smoky richness of the sopressata, all tied together by the bread’s perfect crunch and softness, with that balsamic adding the ultimate finishing touch.
The best part? While I sat down to enjoy it, the owner pulled up a chair and joined me. We talked, laughed, and shared stories like old friends. It wasn’t just a meal — it was an experience. That personal touch, that genuine connection, is what makes Da Nando so special.
In a world full of chain sub shops with cookie-cutter sandwiches, da Nando is the real deal — fast but personal, efficient but warm, and built entirely on quality and tradition. If you want a sandwich made with heart, heritage, and the best ingredients Italy has to offer, this is where you go.
I can’t wait...
