I have never been made to feel more unwanted and unwelcomed in my life. . I have never been to this coffee shop before today. But I was in Brockport and figured they were close by. I'll give them a shot. The girl working the register was busy trying to pump customers out with hardly any personal interaction. When I approached I was incredibly friendly but I had a few questions because I had no idea how this location was layed out to look for information myself. I asked the girl what the soup of the day was. Instead of saying it she frustratingly pointed to a sign. Oook. I was a bit confused because I never act like that towards the customers at my coffee shop. I was then looking for flavors and asked what flavors you had. She again just points frustratingly behind me. I apologized. I was like, I'm sorry. I've never been here.😟 I continue my order and then ask what one of the pastries was (it was in one of the cake stands). Thats when I got a snarky... its a danish.... (I honestly didn't know). I order my latte', scone, and everything bagel with cream cheese. And despite how I felt. I still left a tip in the jar for service because I know what its like to do serving industry And I want to take care of those I interact with. I promply get my drink by a kinder girl with darker short hair (rachel?). But no one makes mention of when or where my bagel will be. No "please have a seat I'll bring it out to you when its done. Or it will just a moment on the bagel". So the whole time I'm standing waiting and no one acknowledged me to say your bagel will be out soon. I'm starting to think it was forgotten. But I don't want to be a Karen so I just stay silent. Even when all the other customers had left and I'm still standing confused on where to go to wait. or on how long it may be... still no acknowledgment....It really wasn't a horrendous wait btw. Its just with no communication from your staff I felt a bit lost and neglected. If someone had only talked to me I wouldn't have minded the wait one bit. Also, the whole time I'm watching this girl be more concerned with exchanging her tips out than acknowledging the individual who looks confused in the shop. She even reach in front of the other girl while she was just about to ring in a customers order. Just so she could exchange money from the register. I get tips at my job. We NEVER cut in front of a coworkers to exchange money. Especially in front of a customer trying to place an order. I think my owner would kill me if I did that. Nevertheless, your scones and bagel were delicious. And that latte was one of the best I've ever had. But please work on how your staff interacts with people. Especially the young lady with two toned hair. And Maybe encourage the exchanging of tips to the end...
Read moreI would like to start off by saying I would rather support a locally owned businesses any day of the week. My mother and I decided that we would stop by Grinds instead of going to a Tim Hortons/Dunkin to support a locally owned business. Upon arriving it was a little busy inside, however it quickly cleared up and was no longer busy. My mother and I ordered two bagels toasted one with butter and one with cream cheese. We also ordered an ice coffee and a hot tea. Our drinks came right out. We originally planned on eating in and catching up.
After about a 15 minute wait for the bagels we were left wondering where our bagels were. Then after another 10 minutes we decided to ask nicely for our bagels to go because at this point we had waited about 25 minutes.
Finally after waiting almost 30 minutes for just two bagels we got them. No one said that they were sorry for the wait or acknowledged that we had been waiting so long. One we got in the car to eat our bagels they were very cold and the one with cream cheese had so much cream cheese on it that I was unable to eat it. There must of been a whole block of cream cheese on the bagel. The other bagel with butter had butter dripping out of the sides of tin foil and the bagel was DRENCHED. Both bagels were unable to be eaten. Not only were they cold, not toasted, they were also drenched to the point of being unable to eat.
This is not the first time I have had to wait a unreasonable about of time at this business. I understand that it is a small locally owned business and is not necessarily “fast food”. However we literally ordered two bagels, waited a half an hour, paid 15$ for these and our drinks, and we were unable to eat the bagels. The customer service was also not up to pare.
We were left wishing we had just gone to...
Read moreI was expecting a lot more from my first visit to Grinds, but the service was so abhorrent that my first trip will likely be my last. The first thing I noticed was that even though there were myriad adults working, the counter was being run by teens that did nothing but bicker with one another. I placed my order, a mocha and a breakfast burrito, and grabbed a double chocolate chip muffin. I was hoping to hold out eating the muffin for when my coffee arrived, but I started slow nibbling. I have worked as a barista before and if moving at a casual pace, a mocha should take no more than five minutes. My breakfast burrito arrived before my beverage. I had given up on my drink when I finally heard “mocha latte regular” and I stood up to grab it. This was twenty minutes after I ordered it. Another lady ordered a mocha latte and stood up to tell the unorganized gaggle that her group only received two of their four drinks. The girls had absolutely forgotten my drink and the only reason I received one is because someone else ordered one. I was scolded for taking a beverage that I paid for. My suggestion is to take of of the adults from the back and move them to the front counter. Maybe there would be some organization and customers would hear the staff say fewer things like “Well maybe YOU should try doing it then.” I found the experience very off putting. The food was tasty though, but the eggs in my burrito could have used a pinch of salt. I would have asked the staff for some but it was clear that they are more concerned about how cute they are rather than what the...
