Poor-to-average overall. Was expecting more from this place with a sharp storefront, 4.5 stars on Google, and a decent website. The place is split into two, bar on one side, dining room on the other. You order at the counter in the back of the dining room, sit down, and food is brought to you, which is a nice touch. We ordered a Rooster's Nest, (their specialty, just six wings, got ours with Country Sweet, on top of onion "straws" (rings)) with a five piece Garlic Parm order of wings. I asked for the wings and onion rings well done. 43 minutes later, the five piece came out, then two minutes after that, the Rooster's Nest. The five piece had a ranch instead of a blue cheese, small mistake that they quickly fixed. But, 40+ minutes was way too long for that small and simple order, especially considering they were not busy at all. The worst part, the wings were BURNT, definitely beyond servable. I asked for well done, got them burned, but somehow the skin was still chewy and had jiggle - cooking temperature problem? We were pretty hungry and running out of time, so we ate what we could, but man the food was just not good. The wings weren't very big, on the medium-small end, and were only lightly sauced. On a brighter note, really the highlight of the restaurant, the bathroom was very clean and smelled good. Also, TVs all over so we were kept mildly occupied with some professional motorcycle racing, but on the other hand, the soft rock definitely got old. Possibly a low three stars, but a solid two stars.
Pictured below: Two photos of the Rooster's Nest (one overall, one with a better look at the burnt wings), one photo of the Garlic Parm 5-piece, two photos from our booth in the...
Read moreThe food was OK here but the service was terrible. I had to repeat my order 3x which probably could have been avoided if the dude taking my order had bothered to take out his air pods while I was ordering. We ordered a 2 slice combo and ten wings. My boyfriend got his food in ten minutes; when I told the person who brought out the food that I was waiting on my wings he said "I think they're in the oven". Great. So we waited 30 minutes, meanwhile the person that took my order looked over at us multiple times, saw me clearly still waiting for my food and trying to get someone's attention, and said/did nothing. Then I came up to ask again and they had no idea what I had ordered, told me the wrong order and I had to correct what they told me because apparently no one even put in the order yet. Then some dude came out from the back with an attitude about "the combo doesn't come with wings". So I had to reiterate we ordered a combo AND wings... They had to put in my order again because no one had even started my food yet. Finally the dude comes and throws my food on the table with no words and no acknowledgement about how I waited ~40 minutes for my food, and they had given me bleu cheese when I asked for ranch at least 3 separate times. That wouldn't have been a big deal by itself but after all the other nonsense, all over ten chicken wings, it was a bit frustrating to say the least. It seems like the kitchen and register are being run by a bunch of dudes that either have no idea what they're doing or are too stoned to have any idea what's even going on. ...
Read moreA year or so ago, Rooster was on our weekly rotation of dinners. The wings were always a 10/10 and pizza as well. Pizza used to be a NY style, slightly crisper crust. Where you cold fold it in half and itd stay straight while you ate it. Now it's a bit more undercooked then it used to be and now even when folding..... it just drops down a bit soft. Also they have way more cheese on it then they first did, which adds to the that soggy limp pizza. Wings are a hit and miss. Sometimes great, sometimes they forget the sauce(more times then not). The buffalo gold used to have a good spice to it too, now the buffalo gold isnt quite as hot as it used too be. I am very sad to write this review. As when rooster first opened I had very low expectations as they used to be a dive bar(best dive bar mind you), and there were already a dozen other pizza places in Brockport. And they really blew me away when they first opened. But over a yr later, and now it's just that slightly pricey normal pizza. Doesnt stand out like it used too. Not sure it's a new cook. New recipe. Either way it has changed and in my opinion isnt as good. Last year, this was a 10/10. I hope things change and I will try it again. Until then, I think I...
