I actually like this place. Great food and the staff is friendly. Last night my wife and I brought 2 friends because we wanted to introduce them to the restaurant and when we walked in we were told 20-25 minutes. I’ve worked in the restaurant business and have family that own restaurants so I’m fully aware that the time given is just an estimate. About 45 minutes later I approached the hostess and asked if we were getting close, with a bit of an attitude she told me there was still 2 tables ahead of us and it would be another 15-20 minutes. When it’s busy, it’s tough for a hostess so the attitude is forgivable but the lack of effort to seat us, knowing we had been waiting there for over an hour after that encounter, is what bothered me tremendously. Two groups that came in after us were seated before us and about theee tables were seated after the hostess mentioned there was only two tables ahead of us. When we arrived the bar was full of groups waiting for tables. An hour and 15 minutes later we were literally the only group left at the bar. Even the bartender, who said he was a manger, noticed and asked the hostess, but that’s all he did, we still weren’t seated. Finally the hostess said there was a three top table available but we’d have to squish together to fit at the table. One of the tables seated right before us was a six top and the group came in about 30 minutes after us. We should have been seated at the 6 top. I understand you’re trying to get the right tables for the right amount of people in a group but if you have a group waiting THAT long you do what you have to to seat them. Very disappointed last night because the food is great and usually it’s a nice atmosphere but the hostess needs better training/awareness and probably a bit of assistance on a Saturday night. I’m not sure if the owner was walking around last night, checking on everything but if he wasn’t he probably should, if he was I don’t know how he didn’t notice my group standing there for over an hour. I’ll most likely be back and I’m not trying to bash this place because it’s a great spot to eat but my hope is that the owner sees this and addresses it. We also did not even get a simple sorry when we decided to just leave and go...

These are usually the toughest reviews for me to write; nothing terrible or exceptional happened during this visit, and Sangria's was pretty much exactly as advertised and as expected. It's a standard Mexican restaurant with the food and drink options you'd assume would be on the menu, and the décor to match, complete with bright colors out of the JC Penney 1995 spring wear guide and some sort of metallic bull structure outside. It was perfectly fine and I'd stop by again, though wouldn't be jumping up and down excitedly in anticipation of doing so.
A group of chums and I stopped by here for an early dinner last weekend. We were probably there around 4 or 5, and it definitely wasn't too crowded (it seemed to pick up towards the end of the meal). Our party was seated immediately outside in their deck area, and I don't recall any issues with the service/waitstaff. Everyone was perfectly friendly and stopped by regularly, which honestly tilted this more toward a positive review than anything else.
Continuing what I think is a very noble 2022 trend, I ordered my third burrito(s) ever, this time a platter/entree that came with two of them, both ground beef, which had rice, beans, sour cream and guac (all the regular cast members). It was good; no complaints. I'm still new to the game, but I think the darkish paste was the beans pureed or something (I'm sure this is obvious to much worldier individuals than myself). That was enjoyable and preferable to actual whole beans. As you can see from the attached picture, it was an enormous portion and for $17, a very decent deal.
There's a lot of food options in the immediate Nyack area, but I haven't seen too many in this specific region just to the northwest - Sangria's definitely benefits from the paucity of eateries. Will you have a great time? Eh, maybe. I'd feel more confident saying you'd likely have...

Very large room, very very noisy. More noise than any restaurant I have been in, and I eat out at least 4 times a week. Long time until the waiter took our order, and then it was 40 minutes until we got our food. By the way, the tortilla chips on the table, a staple in Mexican restaurants, were cold and kind of tasteless. We are used to better! The food finally came. I actually was thinking of leaving. It was good, so 2 stars. But not great. The portions were huge, but it's Mexican, so a little fills you up. Everyone leaving had carry-out bags. That's fine, but we wished the experience would have been better inside the restaurant. And why is it called Sangria? That's Spanish, and they did have a few paellas, but all the rest of the dishes were Mexican. So, of all the Mexican restaurants in which we have eaten over the years, this one is at the bottom of our experience. Too bad because we were hungry and really wanted to like it. We love a little hole in the wall place in Florida, so I guess we are spoiled. Since we don't live close, we don't have to come back here. Such a disappointment! Don't come here if you don't have lots and lots of time or desire to wait for your food. I hope the management reads this because it's not acceptable to make people wait so long for basic Mexican dishes (and the place was not full, so they were...
