Possibly the worst service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. Read my other reviews if you like—I don’t do this often. Full story below if you’re interested.
My wife and I made a reservation for 5:45, noting that we’d need two high chairs for our very young kids. We usually bring a portable booster just in case but left it in the car after being told high chairs wouldn’t be a problem. When we arrived, we were asked if we wanted to sit upstairs or downstairs. Just so you’re aware, downstairs is a completely different vibe—less restaurant, more take-out place—not a huge deal, but worth noting.
At the table, the hostess said she’d have someone bring high chairs. A few minutes later a server dropped menus, and we asked again. He said he’d grab them. Then a third server came by and asked if we needed high chairs. We said yes, again. After about five minutes of holding our kids, we were brought one booster and one high chair. Not ideal, but forgivable.
About five minutes later, a server asked if we wanted drinks or an appetizer. We ordered a seltzer, a simple mixed drink, and water for our son. Ten minutes after that, we were asked again—by someone else—if we wanted appetizers. We declined, but asked about our drinks. They were “on the way.” Another ten minutes passed. The original server came by again, asking if “everything was ok”. We said we were ready to order, and again asked about the drinks. He assured us they were coming—then walked away without taking our order. He did rush to the computer, and I suspect that’s when he actually put our drinks in. Just a suspicion.
After thirty minutes of sitting, being shuffled around, and never receiving a single drink or placing a food order, we dropped twenty dollars on the table to cover the bread and the drinks we never got, and left. My wife told me afterward that the plate at our son’s setting was dirty, as were our water glasses.
To whoever runs this place: when families with young kids are seated, there’s a timer that starts immediately. There’s a limited window of time that kids will tolerate being constrained in a high chair. Beyond that, and more importantly, we simply didn’t feel welcome or comfortable at any point during the visit. That kind of atmosphere is a poison, and it makes a return visit very unlikely.
We went to the Firehouse Grill afterward. One server, full house, and he kept my beers coming as fast as I could drink them, cleansing my palate of the unpleasantry that was...

Read moreI don’t take lightly to writing negative reviews, but what I saw at a retirement party this past Wednesday was impossible to ignore. The bartender assigned to us was professional, upbeat, and engaging, he made our group feel genuinely welcome and provided excellent service, even while handling multiple drink orders.
But what happened next was deeply concerning: a staff member stormed up and began publicly berating him in front of customers, including our party. She was visibly angry, raised her voice, and muttered profanity under her breath. It was hostile, jarring, and absolutely unacceptable in a professional setting. She then took over his post without explanation, leaving him visibly shaken and pushed aside.
There was no excuse for what we saw. If there was an issue, it should have been addressed privately and respectfully, not turned into a spectacle. This was deeply embarrassing to witness not just for him, but for the entire environment. It cast a shadow over an otherwise joyful event.
I sincerely hope ownership is aware of how this staff member is treating others, especially younger employees. No one should be publicly humiliated at work. It reflects directly on management and risks the reputation of...
