Best bagel I've had in a long time. Not too tough to bite and chew when eating it as a sandwich. Lox were fresh, onion crisp, tomato meaty; not runny, and large capers added a zip. Bagel was ready fast.
All chairs were taken upon companion's arrival but cleared out quickly, so we could sit. Very busy place for good reason. Floor was covered in road salt from foot traffic illustrating the crowds of folks who must have come through today. Place (including tables and bathroom) was very clean, so given the snowstorm and frigid temps with salt everywhere to melt the coating of ice, the condition of the floor gets a pass on a day like today. To try to mop it would make a soupy mess of the salt and make the floor slippery with no time to dry in between the steady flow of customers. The seating was start with a mix of large wooden bench and industrial style tables and chairs. Not a cozy coffee shop, it appears to be designed to simply provide seating and get people to move along for the next customers.
Large selection of bagels and cream cheese flavors. Muffins available. Large bagel sandwich menu. Companion's egg and bacon with added avocado looked delicious.
Coffee was good. Attendant asked if I wanted room for creamer. Coffee counter had milk,non-dairy creamer, and Half & Half.
Attendants were friendly, welcoming, patient, and efficient. The vibe was one where they were happy at their jobs and focused on customer...
Read moreI have gone to this place a bunch of times now. Was hoping my poor experiences were one offs, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Let's be clear, the food is pretty solid. But it is overpriced. A breakfast sandwich with two eggs and a hashbrown is almost $10.00. Also the wait is awful, don't go in person. Call or order online. I have not gotten out of there in under 15 minutes ever, from time order is placed to when my name is called. That doesn't even count waiting in line. Today there were two people ahead of me when I ordered, and no one else in the store. The first guy got a dozen bagels and left, the second guy got two sandwiches. From the time I ordered (time on receipt) and got my name called, it was 22 minutes. Again, not counting time waiting in line. Seems like they prioritize phone/online orders. Also, every time I ask that they don't cut my sandwich in half because it is easier for me to eat that way. No matter how I ask or stress it, they still cut in half. They give a sheepish apology about how its habit, if I get an apology at all. Even though it is written on the order slip. Today the woman just laughed and told her employee she cut in half not him, did not even say sorry. Seems stupid and small but my hands aren't great and makes it hard for me to eat. Place is very popular it seems and has recess coffee which people...
Read moreI like coming here. It was nice to see a non-chain bagel shop opened. The Food is tasty the shop appears clean. Prices and bagel style are similar to bruggers bagels. This is no Long Island bagel (sorry folks) but it’s pretty good for Syracuse (probably top 3 in the area for sure). Service does seem scattered, maybe a bit slow and or disorganized. I think it’s the way they lay things out in the shop. Employees are constantly running around to give you half and half. I find this annoying and I’m not the one running Around! I would hate to wear those shoes. This seems pretty fixable issue with a counter top cooler (this is what Stewart’s shop and many gas stations do). You serve your own creamer anyway. Atmosphere is pretty typical for a bagel shop. In store Traffic flow is often confusing because people are often waiting with the same people on line. Again, annoying but not a...
