Honeycomb Bakery — Restaurant in Town of De Witt

I had not previously heard of this local bakery although I have lived in the area for over 10 years now. When I did a quick search for bakeries as I was looking for something more than the normal bakery donuts or cinnamon rolls, I happened upon this website the prior evening. In review the menu sounded exciting and had the types of pastry I was looking for.

When I arrived I was unaware of how popular this location was and after now having eaten 2 of the 5 items I bought I understand why it is so popular! I ordered 3 savory items and 2 sweet items.

The lemon poppyseed scone was phenomenal. The combination of the glaze with the soft scone blended beautifully. My only critique is that I would have liked the scone batter to have some lemon in it as well as the spots without glaze were a bit dry. However I also understand this batter is probably the base of thr multitude of scones they offer daily. The blueberry scone looked delicious and I will try that on my next visit.

I used the broccoli, garlic, and cheese roll as a bun for my burger today and it was absolutely delicious. I assured to try it without my turkey burger and it was a stand alone delicious treat. The cheese blended so well with the brocoli and pastry. I prefer the broccoli florets to the stems but these were perfectly cooked and melted in the mouth so no complaints!

I look forward to my last three items as I know they will be delicious.

The only difficult part about such a popular location was the inside set up was not conducive to traffic coming in and out of the building. Customers were in line in front of the doors and people continued to leave through the entrance door making it hard for people to come in. The line extended into the few tables they had to sit at making that area unable to be utilized to enjoy the baked goods. However given that this small inconvenience was created by the fact there was a line almost out the door that's nothing to even worry about. The team was efficient and kind.

10/10 will be back. Priced well,...

I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I recently got at Honeycomb. I called about a week and a half before Easter to see when they would have Easter bread available. The person who answered said the next week. The next week on Thursday I walked in and asked the young woman at the counter if they had any Easter bread. She told me not until Saturday (the day before Easter). So on Saturday morning, I called to see if there was any bread in stock. A female answered and said the Easter bread was only available to those customers who pre-ordered them.

The employees had TWO opportunities to tell me I had to pre-order the bread but instead chose to leave out that information. Now it's Easter and I have no Easter bread (which I bought from them last year, no pre-ordering necessary)....

We ordered from Honeycomb for our wedding, and the experience was absolutely perfect! Kayla, the owner, was fantastic—timely with communication and incredibly professional from start to finish. The entire process, from order to pickup and packaging, was smooth and stress-free. The mini fall pies were a massive hit with our guests, and the chocolate coffee rum cake was, without a doubt, the best cake we've ever had.
