Worst Dining Experience of My Life Avoid at All Costs
If I could give this place negative stars, I would. This was, without a doubt, the worst meal I’ve ever had and I once ate gas station sushi on a dare.
First of all, the entire experience took over two miserable hours. We waited an hour just to get drinks and no, they weren’t fancy cocktails, we’re talking basic soft drinks and water. At one point I genuinely thought they’d gone out back to dig a well for the ice.
The restaurant was filthy. Sticky floors, tables that hadn’t been wiped down in who knows how long, and a smell in the air like sadness mixed with expired fryer oil. It was the kind of place where you try not to touch anything and start questioning all your life decisions. The lights had more dust on them than an uncleaned dryer vent.
The staff was rude, clearly overwhelmed and totally uninterested in even pretending to care. No greeting, no apology for delays, just eye rolls and attitude like we were the problem for expecting service. Every customer in the place looked either furious or emotionally broken. I saw one table just walk out, honestly, I wish I had joined them. Another table of young kids waited longer than us. They got free dessert. We were not offered it.
To top it off, the food (once it finally arrived) was cold, bland, and borderline inedible. Nothing like the photos. Nothing like the menu description. Honestly, nothing like food. They asked if it was ok we said no they said sorry and walked away. I wouldn't have given the leftovers to my dog, my goat, or my worst enemy. They forgot an order of fries and brought out undercooked ones. They served us the most stale beer I've ever seen.
I don’t complain often. I get that restaurants have bad days. But this? This was a full blown disaster from start to finish. Ruby Tuesday should be ashamed to have their name on this location.
Save yourself the time, money, and emotional trauma, go literally anywhere else. Even the vending machine at a DMV would be a better...
Read moreParty of two, went there on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was not busy, and we were seated right away. A bit of a longish wait, and the waiter came over and took our drink order and appetizer order. It did take a few minutes to get the drinks, even though the restaurant was slow. The appetizers did come out and was not bad. Sampler platter, chicken was nice and hot, artichoke dip was warm, along with the mozzarella cheese sticks, and the tortilla chips were cold.
Order dinner. Cheeseburger and fries, and Cajun chicken pasta. The chicken pasta tasted okay, although it was rather watery, sauce wise. The cheeseburger tasted funny, and the fries weren't hot. Our waiter dropped off our food, and never came back to check on how our meal was. When he did come over to ask if we needed take out boxes, we explained that the burger didn't taste well. He did not say a word to us, just took the plate. Came back to us with the bill about 10 minutes later, and told us it had been taken off the bill. No manager, no follow-up, no nothing. The bill was kind of confusing, and took a few minutes to figure out that we had gotten billed properly for the weekend special.
The capper was when we went to pay the bill. It was done via a remote machine that he brought right to the table. The tip options started at 20% and went up from there. I'm not sure where he thought we were going to tip him 35% for the meal? I spent the better part of 20 years in the restaurant business, both working in family style restaurants, and chain organizations. I get that COVID punched a huge hole in the industry. That being said, the restaurant was not busy and we should have gotten at least a modicum of service. I felt bad, in that the restaurant manager was also the host, the bartender, and the food expeditor. So, perhaps he was too busy to come over and deal with our situation? This was just...sad Somehow or other, one weekend special, one appetizer, and two drinks came to over 30$ before tip. ...
Read moreI have been in Syracuse for business while the 2 menu items I ordered multiple times the Shrimp Parmesan and Salmon were decent to good, the portions are very small for the overpriced $20. I signed up for there connect program which offers coupons and deals. While I paid full price a couple of times for my meals, I also used a couple of coupons for either $5 off or 20 percent off which came to about the same as $5 off. Which if I used a coupon I would still tip 1-3 dollars just for carry out literally just walking into the bar and grabbing my food in a plastic bag. Last time I went I had a coupon that was buy 1 entree get one for free "dine in only", so I went there was gonna dine in and have a few drinks, I showed the bartender the coupon and was told I could not use since she knows I like to carry out, was told I had to sit at a table and I said that was fine, I will sit, have a few drinks order my food and take a couple of bites then box the rest up and was still told no, I actually have to have 2 people for the deal. It said no where on the coupon 2 people had to be present but I said fine if I bring another person and we sit and still box up the food after a couple of drinks whats the problem? I was still told no. Don't send coupons if you are not gonna honor them. I would have technically dined in and had a few drinks, but you can't tell someone they can't box their food if after a couple of beers and a few bites I don't want to eat it all at once., and make up own rules when coupon said no where there had to be 2 people or no boxing of food was allowed, I would have easily left a $5-15 tip just for having a few drinks.I would not waste my money here for mediocre food that's very overpriced for the portion, only convenient since it was very close to the hotel I was staying at. Lost my...
