This place is exactly what it should be, hence the name "Off Shore Pier" great fish, large menu and personable staff. Since I Iive close, I'm there quite a bit. Usually for take out, but have stayed a few times. Just went to their website for the first time, which is odd because I've been going for 15 years. I read the owners start story and vision which was a successful one, as 43 years later it's still a local favorite. No business, especially in food service lasts that long unless the food is good.
It's just what you'd expect along the piers and docks of Maine and the Cape. In the owners words, and I quote, "Rustic, unique and holding true to the style of a good old fashion "Fish Fry"
Some reviews I've read seemed to be expecting the "Ostra" in Boston, or "Ocean Prime" in NYCity. Nah, you won't find those. If you were to close your eyes and picture what an "Off Shore Pier Fish Market and Restaurant" located on the fisherman's docks and piers of Maine, that's exactly what it would be.
Blah! My mouth has been watering since I started this review, and for those of you who've made it this far, that's a lot of watering.

Read moreHorrible place with Horrible workers. I asked for curly fries and got seasoned ones instead. I had a burger that was barely cooked. What took the cake was the attitude of some of the workers regarding another customer's fish fry. The elderly woman wasn't loud or making any type of scene about her fishfry at all. The one worker said she would take the fish fry back ( it was extremely dark). The worker walked over to the little kitchen and all unprofessional yelling occurred. The cook acted like a two year old who got told no and said the burnt fish fry was the customers fault, with the lady taking the orders agreeing with the man child cook. Apparently the customer should have stated she wanted her fish fry lightly fried. Wait what?!?! I have never heard any seafood place asking or customers for that matter talking about lightly fried or burnt. The worker who took the orders then proceeded to grab a new fish fry and walked over to the elderly lady and with a not so nice voice told her next time askfor...
Read moreIt's just so so dirty. We gave it a fair chance since some of my favorite diners look super sketchy, but all of our food tasted like it was fried in really old oil. At first we thought everything had a generous portion of pepper on top but then we realized it was covered in flakes of debris from the fryer. There's also some questionable political propaganda tacked to the wall above the register as a cherry on top. We purchased clams and mussels for a steam and although they had a very very strong fishy smell (way more than is normal) they tasted fine and the price was reasonable. There are a lot of delicious options around here for fish fry so why go where there's overflowing trash cans in the kitchen and you can watch the fryer guy bare hand seafood while scratching himself... Unless...
