Visited June 2022. After opening the front door, and seeing this cafeteria with country music, I initially walked out.

But with a fully open kitchen, I could see that this new restaurant is still super clean. And I've been to some very poor sushi restaurants in the Capital region. Maybe this would surprise me.

So I turned around, to see decorations consisting of a string of flags and two paper lanterns. And ordered and paid at the counter.

No sake, because no liquor license. No hot tea, or any hot drinks, just because. And cold drink selection is limited to bottles in the Pepsi cooler.

No dishes. Disposable flatware. Soy sauce in 1oz Solo cups. And cafeteria tray, because no table service.

Chutoro, not otoro. No wasabi. Small saba. Non spicy spicy salmon maki. Unagi maki contents are over 80% cucumber.

QR code ordering. Doordash ready. Not necessarily a destination "eat-in" experience. But, for average lunch take-away, or gig-type delivery, I guess it will do.

At least. That way, you won't have to listen to the juxtaposition of sushi and country music.

I probably won't return for quite a while. But I might do a simple take-away or delivery. At work. For my co-workers who have simple...

I literally stumbled upon this place while waiting for the bestie to get off work.

The sign outside said they were having a grand opening since love to check out new places to eat in the capital region I decided to head on over…

The restaurant is clean. It’s very cold inside though. Because it was raining out I had zero intentions on sitting down to eat. The food took about 10-15 mins to prepare.

The staff was polite and helpful.

The food was surprisingly very good. I didn’t care for the rice much. It was bland.

I ordered a combo meal. It included two choices of meat but I opted to add scallops for $2 extra. I was very elated with my decision. I woke up the next day craving this all over again. I’m not even a hibachi person.

The combo meal also included two sides: rice and lo mein noodles- (I believe), salad(the dressing they included tasted better with the meat) veggies(there were so many pieces of zucchini.. ugh I could have done without it.), miso soup, and the aforementioned two meat sides.

Personally I recommend eating here. It’s definitely worth the money and the food tastes really good. I would avoid the rice if possible unless you need something to eat without any seasoning.

I plan to bring my...

Trying to come up with reasons not to give 5 stars but everything was up to and beyond expectations for a 1st time experience.

Ordered Spicy Maki and Chicken Hibachi dinner entrees for takeout and was pleasantly surprised with taste and quantity for the affordable economical price point.

Wife raved about the Hibachi meal and my (spicy) Tuna, Crab and Salmon rolls were fresh and all at least 80% protein wrapped in nori and rice. - Add the included hot soup and a basic green salad and you've got a winner.

U2Japan looks to cater to mostly takeout/delivery but there is an eat-in option as well - at least 1 table of the given 15 or so available was occupied.

Experience was plenty good enough to revisit this business again in the very near...

I've been to Japan and eaten a lot of sushi. Poke bowl was smaller than expected but it was quality enough that it filled didn't matter the portion size. 94% of perfect sushi just great for Albany NY. Plastic utensils and equivalent chopsticks bring your own.

Food was bland. I asked for shrimp and they gave me more chicken and only four shrimp. Didn’t give me much rice. I also don’t like how they place their food, shrimp and chicken over veggies is a no for me when ordering hibachi.
