I booked a table here for 2 to celebrate my birthday. We arrived around 10 minutes early and were taken to the bar area (which had no available seats but there was an empty couch) to wait. We waited and waited. While at the bar, no one approached us or offered us anything. About 10 minutes after our reserved time, my husband went to the front and hostesses were not there. The security guard told him that he will let her know. We saw the hostess that sat us down a couple of times walking passed us. After a few more minutes, we both went to the front and they were just there talking.
They sat us immediately in the worst possible table available between two other parties. We were all so uncomfortable and close together. Our waitress was very nice and the food arrived quickly. The space has great ambiance but the light is very dark - we couldn’t even read the menu.
The food was very average. I got the salmon and it had absolutely no taste. It included vegetables, mainly potatoes but they also put a chunk of ginger. With the darkness in there, I unknowingly ate that big piece of ginger thinking it was potato. The drinks were ok but very light. We both got different ones but they tasted the exact same (very limey).
When I booked, they asked the occasion and I put birthday. Throughout the night, we saw about 6-8 tables (including the one to our left) get celebrated with a musical break, a dessert and candle. They always post about how they celebrate birthdays which is why I booked with them. Unfortunately, my time never came. No dessert, no song, no candle, nothing. And to be honest, at that point we just wanted to leave.
After the restaurant hours are done, they turn into a bar/club. We had one of the latest reservations because we intended to party after dinner. As we were finishing our meal, the party started and a random waiter was cleaning around us, he even took some items off our table without uttering a word. It was a very clear “move” or “get out of this section” to us as we were the only ones left dining in that area. The big parties were still receiving regular dining services.
Overall, the space is great but the service and food are average. Personally, as a Latina woman I didn’t feel welcome and I wouldn’t go back. People in big groups and white couples were having great experiences based on what...
Read moreI have been to this place once before with my wife and the experience was amazing. Although our most recent experience during this past valentines day 2/14/2025. My Wife had planned and reserved the valentine special for my birthday. (Yes my birthday is on valentines day) the atmosphere was great, the scenery was beautiful, and well the staff i rate as 1 star. Angela M. (Our waiter) Failed to give us the full experience that my wife has paid for. Started with Angela M. charging the table next to us and talking loud over us, when she could easily stand within the area of the table next to us instead of shouting. We were not given breadsticks as everyone else, our food had to sit at our table for 15minutes because Angela M. failed to bring the sparkling water that was asked for. My Wife is pregnant and needs somthing to drink. Failed to bring steak sauce after the sparkling water had finally arrived. So now the food is cold, and to top it off they failed to follow my wifes specific instructions to the staff for my birthday announcement and confirmed with the staff not once, not twice but 3 times and the third time was confirmed at the door when checking in for our reservations. Angela M. Also failed to do that. My birthday announcement then Came out after the bill was brought to us.
I do not agree that this place includes tip within the price, it's because of situations like this that this place did not deserve a tip at all based on the poor experience and performance of there employee Angela M. Tip is not mandatory, it is a reward given to those who provide an excellent experience.
I do not recommend this place, more so on on any holiday or special occasion. Angela M. Needs alot more training in alot of areas and it's because of her, our experience at this place of business has left a bad sour taste...
Read moreMy father had an 80th Birthday party for our mother at Gigante's in August and we were overjoyed with every aspect of the experience provided by John and his staff. From the moment we arrived, all our guest were made to feel welcome and at home. The day in question featured a severe rainstorm, which delayed many guests. However, John and the staff at Gigante's refused to allow this to impact the experience of our family or any of the attending guests.
The party room was bright and spacious, yet elegant and refined. Our menu was expansive and well worth the price negotiated for the event. There was something for everyone and no one went home hungry. Every guest was accommodated and made to feel as if they were not just a guest, but the guest of honor themselves!
The food was plentiful, absolutely delicious, and prepared and plated with care and precision. We were amazed at how much attention was given, considering it was a party for fifty guests. The staff was attentive to anything we needed and truly made all our guests feel special.
We are forever grateful to John for making the event a day to remember! It is more and more rare to find people in business who remember that patrons are more than the money they pay for a product or service. John and his staff know how to make their patrons feel valued and make them want to come back to feel that way again and provide business to an establishment that sees them as more than just dollar signs.
So, if you're looking for an elegant dining experience, at an establishment that also makes you feel at home, look to Gigante's for your next party...
