I had heard good things and had high hopes. The pasta was cooked perfectly but served scalding hot. As a result the shrimp in the pasta was very, very over-cooked. Three of four at our table had some sort of pasta with shrimp and for each of us the shrimp were reduced to little pink and white leathery hockey pucks devoid of any flavor. The sauces also lacked the rich flavor I was hoping for. Was the sauce bland because it was boiled to death by the pasta, or just prepared that way? Perhaps the veal and chicken dishes are better? The service was slow paced but very good, the staff professional and friendly. Wine was very good. List is big with good Italian and Californian options, although Californian lacks fun. French options are limited, which is fine, stick to Italian wine and you will be very happy. The downstairs restaurant is very loud. Not a good spot for the hard of hearing. Decor is fine, but were it not for the white branch and twinkle light treatments in the windows it would have felt a little dated and bland. It could use a bit of a face lift (beyond the bar, which looks more recently done.) Valet parking was fast, easy and the valet himself professional and friendly. If I were to guess I'd say this is a restaurant filled with regulars who love going there, are loyal to the staff, and willing to overlook inconsistency...
Read moreWhen you’re celebrating a milestone mom’s 90th birthday, you want a restaurant that can rise to the occasion. Tutta Bella did just that. Our server, Blendi, handled a large group with grace and personality, managing special requests and off-menu orders as if it were second nature.
Food & Drink (★★★★★) Eighteen of the twenty plates went back spotless, which says everything about the kitchen’s consistency. From starters to mains, each dish hit the mark with vibrant flavors and generous portions. Drinks held their own too, though the beer list feels stuck in the past—time to move beyond Peroni and welcome a craft modernizer like Baladin L’IPPA IPA.
Service (★★★★★) Blendi was the star of the night. Friendly, attentive, and proactive, he kept glasses full and smiles wide. For a party this size, it’s rare to see service executed so flawlessly.
Ambience (★★★☆☆) The front indoor deck, while cozy and lively, shows its age. It doesn’t take away from the experience, but a touch of modernization could elevate the setting to match the excellence of the food and service.
Bottom Line At $$$$, Tutta Bella isn’t a budget choice, but it delivers on value for special occasions. The birthday guest of honor had a fantastic time, and really, that’s the only review...
Read moreI had wanted to come here for awhile, and after trying- I will never be back. We were treated quite bad by the waiter WILLy, the Guy (gentlemen) started off all friendly but when my friends were talking about something he would butt into the conversations, he’s so reckless and when we finished eating we had to leave tips and yes we left him a good amount of money and the gentleman started yelling around the place saying that we had to leave him more and I know that’s very optional compared to how they treat us, and I think it’s disrespectful that he starts yelling at us in front of people, like you can ask me in private, I told him that I want to give him more money and he didn't want to receive any more so I didn't understand what’s the need to yell and say nonsense, food was great but we have a hard time when we left, that was so humiliating...
