If you're ever traveling far upstate and need to visit a legit pizzeria, Mandys is THE ONLY pizza and sub spot you should go to. This 5 star rating is taking a lot into account. The location is easy to get to. Prices are out of this world affordable. Food is made wildly fresh. Service is amazing behind the counter. There is extremely limited pizza options up here (besides cardboard Pizza Hut and Dominoes) so they deserve all the credit.
My friends and I visit Fort Edward every year for the hot air balloon festival. Last year we decided to stop and get some pizza and sammies before heading back to NYC. It was the best decision we've made when it comes to food up here.
We stopped here again this yr and it looks like Mandys is trending up. They've got (named) breakfast sandwiches available now. They (maybe always) have partnered with a bakery and get all their rolls n baked goods fresh from there, which was relieving to know.
We ordered classic breakfast sandwiches (the Kylie) bacon egg n cheese & ordered a maple turkey bacon m cheese sub with Lett, toma, mayo. The one bit of advice I'd give is to make sure the bottom of the sub bread doesn't fall into the doughy category. Besides that slight nitpick (cuz my sub was still phenomenal lol) we all loved our food and will be back next year. Keep...
Read moreFirst visit here, and it will be the last. This was one of the worst pizza's I've ever had, and my husband said the same. Ordered a large pizza with pepperoni, onions and green peppers. The peppers weren't green...and they weren't fresh! Possibly quick pickled? They had a tang that did not belong on my pizza! Also, when I ordered GREEEN peppers, they did not tell me it would be mixed (mostly red) peppers...IT MATTERS! The pepperoni wasn't even cooked...I mean, how could it cook with the ton of onions and peppers on top? The crust was more biscuit than pizza crust and SO FREAKING BLAND!!! I don't think there was even a pinch of salt in it. It was doughy ( not in a good way) and the center was SO SOGGY! And it was on PARCHMENT PAPER! WHO DOES THAT?? It had no choice but to be soggy. To add insult to injury, the cheese was low quality and even lower flavor. The sauce had no garlic, no oregano, no salt....no pizza flavor🤢 I can't even express how extremely disappointed we were. I'm not a big fan of Dominos, because I really like pizzeria style and flavor....but honestly, Dominos would have been better, and that's saying something. This was an extreme waste of money and calories....not...
Read moreby far the most disgusting ''place'' I have ever ate at ....service was good the actual place was ...ok lets start with the bathroom , door handle encrusted with dirt , no light switch on the wall. pull down type , maybe I couldn't see it because it was black with dirt and germs , maybe install a light switch on the wall ? why have a string the clearly shows the white clean part high up near the light get progressively darker until black from dirt? no paper towels to dry my hands in a bathroom that is so out of code its amazing the state hasn't been there to shut it down. the TP roll fell off and dropped into the crapper with just a little tug...YUK! my turkey sub had zero taste , the mayo didn't taste like mayo , more like a miracle whip hybrid diet spread ? the turkey was clearly the cheapest ''meat'' available I guess. no flavor , I needed some serious salt and pepper to salvage the sandwich, not a single bottle of salt and pepper on any table ...WHY? I was given a pepper shaker and it was sticky ..yes covered in something ..oh and I was given a 20cc cup of salt lol...
