We stopped here for a late lunch. The place has that stale beer smell that a lot of bars with wood floors have. We were told to sit wherever we liked and there was no wait. The wife used the bathroom and said there were packages of open baby wipes on the sink, no soap, and overall a "very scary" bathroom. The server apologized when the wife told him and when to rectify the soap problem immediately. Cleanliness seemed questionable overall based on feel and smell. Tables are wrapped in plastic I'm sure to make cleaning them easier. Some are wrapped nicer than others. Server was friendly and initial food and drinks arrived quickly. After the initial drop off he returned only once to ask if it was ok then we never saw him again. No drink refills or chip check or anything. Wife had to find someone so we could pay the check. The guacamole was served warm, but tasted ok. Guessing the ingredients aren't refrigerated and it was over 90 today. Chips and salsa were fine. I ordered the combo of chili rellenos, chicken enchilada, and beef burrito and my wife had the chicken quesadilla. Enchilada was the best thing. The rellenos was ok, the burrito wasn't great. The beef had a funny taste, the beans were pale and runny and the rice was under seasoned. The wife had a similar scenario with hers. Runny pale beans and overall under seasoned. So not bad just nothing that stood out as good or great to warrant a return visit. Also just an overall feeling of uncleanliness which I'm guessing the super hot day...
Read moreMy mother and I went with my 2 year old for lunch, very excited to try a new restaurant close to home. The environment was very gloomy and our waiter wasn’t very pleasant. The food was okay, $40.71 for 3 meals & 2 drinks (an ice water was $2.95🙃). Despite the uncomfortable atmosphere, I always make sure to tip good considering 2 year olds aren’t always calm and collected in public. We paid with card and left a 17% tip on the table ($7). After receiving bank statements in the mail we discovered they charged an extra $14.62 to the card for which we can only assume is gratuity. After all was said and done they ended up with a tip larger than 50% of our bill ($21.62 total!). Mind you there were no signs around the restaurant stating automatic gratuity will be taken, with the exception of large parties requiring an automatic 8% gratuity. I wouldn’t consider 3 people large but regardless, as mentioned they took over 50% gratuity total. When we called to speak with somebody in the restaurant we were told “I can’t deal with this right now I have other patrons to worry about I’ll take your number and figure it out later”. The entire establishment is extremely unprofessional and we will be informing everybody we know not to give them...
Read moreWent on a friday, wasnt extremely busy so we were seated rather quickly. I enjoyed the atmosphere. The fact that they kept the train theme was welcomed. Some of the decor a tad bit cheeseball but in a good way. Our waitress was very quick and attentive. My only gripe is my menu had some wet salsa in the pages when i opened it. Not a big deal though. The complementary chips and salsa were warm and fresh which made for a good start to our meal. Our food was out very quickly. I ordered the Carne Ranchera and my Girlfriend ordered the sampler platter. First impression when the food came out other than that was quick, was that the portions were huge and looked amazing. The Carne Ranchera was very good. I feel there could of been more of a kick (spice wise) but there are multiple kinds of hot and sweet sauce bottles on the tables to help with that. The Sampler platter was definately loaded, the empanadas and quesadillas were done well. the cheesesticks and poppers are pretty much as expected. To top it off the bill was not that pricey for the 2 of us. As for our first time here i want to sayit was a success and i would reccommend stopping for dinner. I will definitely be back to try some...
