Passing thru traveling for work with my foreman. Walk in and i smell a strong smell of curry. A gentleman from the place, later to be told he is the owner, walks up and says “seating for two?” “Yes,” and we start following him. He states, “oh you need to wait to be seated.” “I thought you were going to seat us,” i replied and then my foreman asked if we can just sit and eat at the bar. He said yes. Bartender is not a sharp minded lady, she was very polite and kind which was great. We had a few beers, we ate dinner, the food was very good! For my 3rd beer the bartender popped open a different brand, i corrected her, she looks and sees only 1 left of what i was drinking and says they are all out. Not a problem. A few minutes later the gentleman who didnt try to seat us from earlier appeared with a case of the beer i was enjoying. The couple sitting next to us stated he is the owner Rocky, and the bartender is his wife. I saw earlier there was a Rocky’s pasta, so i asked the bartender what kind of pasta was that. There was no description, she could not tell me for her life what kind of pasta and with what was served with it. Whatever not a problem, was only being curious. She asks outloud to Rocky and he states it is a linguine. I acknowledge that i like linguine is should have had that. I then hear him muttering, “fck you for confusing my wife you fcking….” I did not hear the rest. Sure caught my attention, and clearly felt aimed at me. I ignored it, finished the beer i had. A minute later Rocky sits in the end seat of the bar about 10 feet away from me and i hear more muttered cursing. I clearly asked, “did i do something to have upset you.” He gets up and walks back into the kitchen. I was dumbfounded at this point, and also felt quite bothered by the owner. I informed my foreman of this and the couple bear us, stated he didnt hear me. They also kept insisting it was aimed for the kitchen. I am absolutely certain it was aimed at me. All because i asked what the Rocky pasta was, and his own wife who has worked there for years didn’t know. Left her a great tip, will never return. I now hope this place fails and someone else takes over and runs a smoother and more successful restaurant in it’s place.
Ps, f*ck...
Read moreFirst and foremost, all the positive reviews are lies. They either know the owners or don’t have working tastebuds.. All of the food was just not good, either premade junk or just no flavor. And usually when you have a kid they try to get their food out as quickly as they can but no such effort was made here, we all waited close to an hour. And it was not that busy. The salads had literally one slice of cucumber and one wedge of tomato, I don’t expect side salads to be loaded up but really? When we finally got our main food, we were all joking that they must have used the tomato and onion for my burger instead of the salads… but the laughing stopping when we got the bill and saw an extra $9 added on for lettuce, tomato and onion, mind you this was a FROZEN PREMADE BURGER PATTY that already cost $14 (it did come with small side of fries). We asked the waitress about it and she said a lot of people get upset, that some of the staff think it’s ridiculous to charge that, and that the back adds on the extra charges for those items, not her. She took it off our bill, but then proceeded to tell us that other staff don’t charge for it sometimes but if she tries to do that she gets in trouble? And then also tried to say those charges are listed on the menu, which they were not!! She grabbed the menu and started looking for it herself and couldn’t find it, so then the story was that they just got new menus printed the day before. I don’t care if they did just get new menus, or even if the charges were listed on the menu, when taking our orders and specifically asking me if I wanted those items, it should have been stated they are going to try and charge you that much for toppings that normally come on a burger. Seriously tried to charge $23 for that. Don’t waste your time...
Read moreI am uncertain as to why my review could not be viewed. For our anniversary dinner (last week of July), we went to this restaurant after taking the boat tour next door. The waitress who seated us barely spoke, never smiled. About 5 minutes after being seated, a group of several people came in and had apparently not seen each other in a long time and were happily and noisily greeting each other, which was not a problem. What WAS a problem is that this noisy group of people stood directly behind me, often running against my seat, and were so loud it was nearly impossible for my husband and I to carry on a conversation across the table! I finally asked the waitress how long she expected them to be there and she said they would be leaving on a party cruise IN A FEW MINUTES! They remained there halfway through our dinner, which was absolutely the worst food I have ever been served in a restaurant and neither of us are fussy eaters! My Atlantic Haddock arrived swimming in a plate of butter and/or grease and was barely warm. The twice baked potato was dripping in butter and I literally could squeeze the butter out of it - it was not edible!! My husband orders eggplant parmesan everywhere and said he could barely cut it - how can you not cut eggplant?? It's not even meat!! His dinner was also barely warm and he ate maybe a quarter of it! I mentioned our dissatisfaction to the waitress, who was clearly Not Interested in hearing what we had to say as she removed our nearly full plates!! I wish I had made more on an issue and at least asked to speak to the manager. If you are looking for quality food at a reasonable price, I would strongly recommend looking somewhere else!! What an utter...
