First time ordering tonight for my son's birthday because he really wanted to try this place. We got the three different tacos, a chicken burrito, and the burrito bowl. My husband really liked the tacos, he had a fish a pork and a beef, he says he liked the fish one the best, my son said that his burrito was just ok, ate 4 bites and he was done. It was a little bland, same complaints as mine with taste, he wished there was some veggies or sour cream, salt? It just is missing something important. My burrito bowl was the most disappointing thing we got. First of all, I couldn't tell if it was chicken or pork, I ordered chicken, it has a weird burnt taste and is very overcooked. The rice is severely overdone, clumpy and unseasoned, and super bland. It's just rice. Nothing else, no corn, etc. There was this green sauce on top that was actually bitter and had a horrible aftertaste. I wish there were veggies, maybe a little bit of lettuce or onion, just needs something because it's really heavy with all the beans, rice and chicken, and nothing in between. Sits in your stomach like a rock. I'm sorry to say, but your rice and beans really need some work. I unfortunately won't be back, sorry. I really wanted to like it, especially because I go by this place multiple...
Read moreWe ordered online 20 min before arriving. On the way there, the alert said 'your food may already be ready for pickup' which was a good sign. We get there and had to wait another 10 min while the order was actually prepared. Not the worst but when you order ahead... Food was average. Lacked any spice or flavor. No hot sauce options or condiments bar to spice it up, just a bland green Chile sauce. Quesadilla was only highlight, but can't tell if it was chicken or carnitas. Baja pineapple tacos watery and could have been so much more with jalapenos or some spice. The nachos had the spice - salt and maybe cumin? Odd flavoring. Tajin exists and would be a suitable alternative. Really, any spice added to the meat would give this another star. Average food and service - 2.5 (rounded up to 3) Atmosphere - 5 stars (Stefon voice) located in a former Stewarts, this taco shop has it all - churros, high school cashiers who skipped training, two types of taco shells and a dead fish on the wall. Edit: If you have hot sauce it sure as heck wasn't visible! People want some options for sauces and heat. Nothing like that exists there. If you have to...
Read moreI tried this place and it was not great unfortunately. I tried to tell the cashier what I wanted on my burrito, but it came with other things on it too. I probably could have been clear what I did not want on it, but I wasn't sure what came on it. The chips and queso were really bad. The chips and queso had a weird cumin and salt heavy spice mixture that was very over powering. The churro I had was very good. The burrito portion seemed very generous, but I couldn't eat it.
I think if the cashier had a little more training on taking an order and the menu, it could have been a solid dinner.
Update: the three stars was me giving them benefit of the doubt. After the rude response it confirms that management is probably the issue here. I threw most of my food out because it was inedible and drove to the mexican restaurant up the street for dinner. $25 down the drain definitely warrants a 1 star review, especially after a rude response.
Also, by "try" I meant I specified exactly what I wanted on the burrito without specifying what I...
