This is the third time I’ve tried this establishment and I’ve thrown in the towel.
My first experience was with a western style omelet. It wasn’t great tasting and it was way overpriced. You get to choose two ingredients and additional ones are an additional (high) cost per item. Fine.
My second experience was with regular pancakes. They texture was like rubber and you couldn’t cut them without a knife (aggressively). The taste was ok but expensive and nothing to write home about.
My third and final experience was with the biscuits and gravy. I had asked my home fries to be crispy and for scrambled eggs as well. The order came and the scrambled eggs were on top of the (whole and not halved) biscuit underneath the gravy. The home fries were a bit raw, not even the slightest bit crispy. I’ve never seen eggs be placed on top of the biscuit and underneath the gravy. They tasted awful. I only took one bite and sat there while my spouse finished his meal. The waitress never came back to check on us. When she finally did come back, she looked at my FULL plate asked if I needed a box, to which I responded no. She immediately took our plates and set down the check. She returned 10 minutes later to charge my card and then walked away.
Now, I’m not one to complain about my food. Even if it’s incorrect or whatever I’ll still eat it because things happen! This time however it was inedible. It really did not taste good at all and I do have a tiny aversion to my food touching like that (it’s controllable). This experience was the worst though. The waitress didn’t even ask if everything was ok. Just grabbed our plates and dropped the check. Very disappointed and we won’t be returning for a...
Read moreI never write reviews but this needed to be posted. Very clean, family friendly, and good food menu for breakfast.....if you have hours to kill. We went on a Sunday morning at 10:10am and didnt receive our food until 11:20! Yes I know sundays can be busy anywhere with the after church crowd but this was ridiculous. All we ordered was an eggs Benedict and an omelette! The waitress didnt even come to take our order until 30mins after seating us. Staff were running around and seemed very disorganized. Staff were very nice but just disorganized and overloaded with work....which they shouldn't be as this place is on the smaller side and only seats maybe 70 people and there are at least 3 or 4 waitresses plus 1-2bust boys.. I'd like to give this place a 2nd chance but I don't know. Friends have said the same thing about the crazy wait times after being seated.... as a side note the place was 70% full and tables were clearing out fast. During only long wait we noted that tables that were friends of the staff recieved preferential treatment and received their service much faster. We were about to cancel our order and walk out but they stated our food was being plated that moment.... 5mins later we got our food which was unfortunately not worth the wait. The omelette tastes like a bad hotel omelette and the Benedict was cold... in total we were there for 1.5hrs for 2 people....for breakfast only. No compensation was recieved or a reasoning for their extreme wait time. We had high hopes for this place but unfortunately we most likely will not...
Read moreI decided to check out the latest restaurant to open on Grand Island. From the moment I walked in this place was a disappointment. There was a lineup of four parties waiting to be seated with no hostess on duty, only a sign saying to wait to be seated. So we waited and waited. No greeting by the staff, no "Be right with you", no interaction at all, not even a glance. The line of people waiting soon began to walk out saying they had been waiting 10 minute so far and also hadn't even been greeted by the staff. I began to look around the restaurant and saw there were multiple empty tables, dirty tables and one staff member running around in a scattered, chaotic manner. Meanwhile, the other two members of the wait staff were standing and chatting at the main counter, oblivious to anyone else. Not even concerned with the line building at the door.
Finall, our party of two got seated and we were brought coffee to start and given menus. The menu had plenty of offerings for both breakfast and lunch consisting of typical American fare. I decided on a bacon, cheese and mushroom omlet while my friend choose an eggs benedict option. Both came with lightly seasoned potatoes and toast and were delivered quickly. While the restaurant tries to portray an upscale image through their decor and plating, the food was just typical and non-descript.
To sum it up, the service was poor, the food was ordinary at best and the bill came to $22+. There's not a...
