Imitation seafood ingredients I ordered the Seafood Delight for $17.50. The ingredients were listed as being lobster, king crab, shrimp and scallops. There was no lobster in it at all, the king crab was substituted with imitation crab, but at least the shrimp was real shrimp. However, the bay scallops had no scallop taste, an unusual texture and did not have the fibers that are contained in real scallops. The “scallops” did not even meet the quality of imitation scallops that are made from skate; they had a texture more like they were made from surimi which is a fish paste. When I called the restaurant and told her about not having lobster in it, she said they didn’t have any so they included more crab and shrimp. When I told her that it was imitation crab meat she said that she was sorry and would need to change the menu. When I started to tell her about the scallops she said she was too busy to talk but would take my number and call me back. She never returned my phone call. It should be noted that this was not an on-line order. When I called in the order she did not mention that the See Food Delight would not contain lobster or the King Crab. In as much as I want to support small business, it is deceptive to be dishonest about a dish’s ingredients. Unfortunately I paid in cash so that they wouldn’t have to pay the credit card fee, otherwise I would dispute the charge...
Read moreI ordered this on GrubHub but wanted to review here too.
I bought the combination boneless spare ribs that included pork fried rice and an eggroll, then I bought 4 piece fried chicken wings, and 2 more eggrolls.
Now I'm picky about Chinese restaurants so I haven't changed my location of my choice for years because the food can be off or bland for some.
However, I was out of city and came to Hastings and wanted some, so I took a chance and I'm glad I did because it doesnt taste too far off from the one I commonly go to. And the boneless spare ribs in my opinion are more delicious because it has more sauce.
Overral the food was good, had good taste, smell, so when I'm back in Hastings, I know where to go 😄
Total came to about $22.75, not including fees and my tip on Grubhub. But if you go in person it should...
Read morePretty bad - the hot and sour soup was decent, but everything else was barely edible. Orange beef - came as one fused brick of gummy sweet and sour fried bits - I’d estimate at a least a 1:1 ratio of beef to breading, maybe even more breading. I think that bottled sweet chili stuff is most of the sauce.
wontons in chili oil - they were deep fried, then put in a sweet and sour sauce, which made them very chewy and pulled the wonton skin away from the filling, so you end up a little mystery meatball that falls out of the wonton when you bite into it.
Pork egg rolls - didn’t really see any pork in here, or any other vegetables for that matter. Just looked like a bunch of gray shredded...
