Hastings Center Diner — Restaurant in Town of Greenburgh

My wife and I wanted to eat breakfast on a Sunday morning in a different place. We decided on this diner because it has the oldtime diner look and we were not disappointed in that it did have "the feel" as well. All the indoor seating tables have a bright airy touch. There is a counter if you prefer to eat there. The service was instant. I had a short stack of whole wheat blueberry pancakes with coffee, the warm maple syrup in the metal pitcher was a nice touch. My wife had two eggs over-easy with bacon as well as coffee. We both were satisfied with our vittles. The clean bathrooms are downstairs. On a Sunday all metered parking is free and more than ample. I got a simple hamburger. The burger itself didn’t appear to be seasoned at all. The fries and pickle tied for my favorite part of the meal. A drink was delivered to the table with something floating in the bottom. They don’t appear to clean the windowsill. There was an ant crawling across the table. There was a giant wasp in the back corner of the restaurant. I’m not sure why they choose to leave the doors wide open as it lets these kinds of bugs in. Update on July 20, 2025. Iced coffee and toasted muffin at the bar. Friendly, excellent service. Inclusive small village atmosphere unusual so close to Emerald City. This is a classic 1950s diner with comfortable seating and friendly hosts. Perfectly fine for bagel and coffee break. Note on ADA access. Toilets downstairs. Yes there is a door to rear parking lot with no steps but it may be too narrow to accommodate a wheelchair user unless he/she/they can stand and partially fold the chair.
