Main Street Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Guilderland

We went there because we were visiting from out of state, staying at an AirBNB and needed breakfast. One review that I saw stated that it was their best breakfast ever. Now, I enjoy breakfast and have had some poor ones at various restaurants, but couldn't look back and identify a 'best breakfast ever.' Now I can! I had 2 over easy eggs, corned beef hash, potatoes and toast. My wife and I split a Very Berry Belgian waffle. The eggs and toast were just eggs and toast. The potatoes were very well seasoned, freshly cut, and fried to perfection. The corned beef hash was fresh and the best I've had. That alone was a reason to return. The half waffle with fresh berries and syrup was outstanding. The batter had a great flavor. Two important exceptions were that due to physical building space, plastic ware is used and the prices are higher than a typical breakfast. For our circumstance, neither of these were a negative. We stopped in once while visiting friends in Albany, and the fried chicken and waffles was divine—crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, with waffles that were light and golden. Total comfort food and worth the detour.

They were training a new girl in the back so service was a little slow but the server was attentive. The food was amazing. We ordered the roast beef and Swiss and the Turkey and Goat cheese with fries and Mac salad as sides. We ate it all it. Caramelized onions were perfect, apples were fresh, sauces and cheeses were on point. I will go back and definitely recommend.
