Sub par experience. Not good, not really bad.... just meh.
There are positive things to say about our visit to the Pegasus restaurant. The décor and atmosphere was very pleasant for two families of 4 to get together. They had no problem seating our party of eight, which was nice. The price was reasonable for today's economy, and I think for 8 people a bill of around $100 was not bad at all. Our waitress, Sky, was very nice and helpful, attentive without being overbearing.
But unfortunately this is where the review takes a turn.
Upon first arriving I took my boys to wash their hands in the bathroom and found the men's room dirty. It just felt dingy and a little bit dark, and there were soaked napkins laying on the counter and in the sink. Certainly this could have been the actions of a customer that had only happened minutes before I'd arrived, but still it was a little off-putting.
After ordering our food it took 45 minutes, maybe a little longer, for our food to arrive. This was at a time when there were very few other patrons in the restaurant, and certainly nothing we ordered was very complex; burgers, kids pasta, kids chicken fingers, soup, a Rubén sandwich, etc.
In addition to this, one of the children, a 10 year old, had ordered a bowl of French onion soup as his meal. It didn't arrive when everyone else's food came and instead arrived a good 15-20 minutes later. After we'd all shared our food with the poor child.
When the food arrived everything was a little cold. Not cold exactly as in uncooked, but just lukewarm, as if it'd been prepared and then sat around for 10 minutes (with exception of the 20 minute late French onion soup). My Rueben sandwich had slid partially apart, and the lower piece of bread on the sandwich was soggy like a damp sponge, because it had obviously been sitting around for a good long time before being served to me.
All of the food that I personally tried, none of it was what I would consider 'good'. The 'beef barley' soup was one of the worst soups I've ever had, being somehow cool and greasy at the same time, with far too little barley, one single solitary piece of beef, and otherwise just tasting like canned minestrone. My elder son had chicken fingers and French fries, these were fine, though as I mentioned, cold. My younger son had a bowl of spaghetti, they had put so much pasta sauce on it that it was swimming in marinara. My wife's burger was fine, though when you order a 'stinger cheeseburger', you expect something more than literally JUST a bun, a burger patty, and 2 chicken fingers, no condiments, not even cheese. Finally as I mentioned my Rueben was falling apart, and my bread was soggy. In addition the menu proudly touted the sandwich as being served on fresh baked sour dough bread, with the picture of the sandwich appearing to be on a marble rye. But the sandwich was clearly served on basic store bought rye bread from the bag.
The other party with us had similar complaints about the food quality. Nothing worth sending back, but over all, just very low quality to our meals that we'd waited a very long time for.
All in all, I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. While it had it's strengths, the over all experience was far too negative to ever return to this...

(Ordered Tuesday night, 4.28.2020)
Pegasus treated my family and I well in the past, and we've always enjoyed dining in their restaurant, but as of yesterday, we never intend on returning.
My dad ordered a burger, and a steak in the grass sandwich. When he went to pick our order up, the woman who my dad had spoken with on the phone informed him that she had forgotten to submit his order, so he sat inside for ten minutes and watched the staff work. He noticed a staff member who had been taking an order for a customer, stating they did not have their full menu available, but they could substitute certain ingredients in a meal) had the phone removed from her hands by the presumed owner (who was not wearing any form of facial covering, despite Governor Cuomo's legal mandate), who then proceeded to tell the customer that this team member didn't know what she was talking about, and that they were serving the FULL menu. After a few more minutes, my dad received our order. At first, he was impressed at how quickly the staff was able to prepare our meal.
He brings our dinner home, takes everything out, and gives my mother her Steak in the Grass sandwich, to which she finds no steak (mind you, in the recent past, Pegasus had used a strip of steak on everything SitG sandwich, AND their menu still advertises this item with a piece of steak), yet instead finds souvlaki meat, with a few leaves of spinach, and despite attempting to eat it, she was immediately repulsed.
Thinking there was still some hope, my father tried his burger, and immediately spit the chunk of RAW meat onto his plate. (Please note, my father eats his meat rare in most situations). In my father's words "I swear, this burger still has a pulse". He then noticed the burger was cold in the middle (we live less than a mile from the restaurant, so it didn't cool down on the drive home). Both of them threw their meals out without eating another bite, save their krinkle cut french fries, something I never thought I could witness from my parents.
$30 wasted, an overwhelmed staff, and a careless micro-managing owner or manager, who seems to care more about lying to his customers to keep what little revenue he can than to provide not only a delicious meal, but also one SAFE to consume.
We have not contacted the owner personally as of 4.29.2020, as my father said he was certain the manager/owner would not care, seeing his blatant lack of regard for the legal obligation of wearing a facial covering. It's important to note because of this carelessness, we certainly do not want a free meal to "make it right", nor do we expect the owner to issue us a refund, but it's certainly the only right thing Pegasus can do for...
Read moreCame in at 8pm- an hour before close. The girl at the host stand said “hi we close in an hour.” I said “okay, well it’s just me and my daughter. Can we still eat?” I really wish she would have just said no because she made the next hour really awful.
She sat us down and turns out she was our waitress too. Wonderful. Every single time she spoke to us she mentioned how long it was before they closed. At about 8:20 she said I couldn’t order anything else because the cooks were cleaning the oven so me and my daughter got stuck splitting a meal.
My daughter (she’s 4) started feeling sick and I wanted to leave but our waitress literally left and didn’t come back after that. I had to ask someone else for boxes and to find her so I could get the check. Theres no reason to treat someone so rudely just for wanting to get dinner. We didn’t see here for over 20 minutes and had been done with our meal for almost as long.
By the time we got the check, We were literally cashing out at 5 minutes to 9. Our bill was 14 bucks and I tipped her 3 dollars and she was MAD. She literally rolled her eyes at me and snatched the money off the counter and shoved it in her pocket without looking up and said “next time please come in earlier because now I have all these tables to clean up” (note that there was another table with two men who cashed out right before us and another older man who is always there who cashed out after us but she didn’t say a word about it to either of them)
It’s really upsetting because I’ve been coming here once a week with my daughter and friends for the past 3 months for the Greek food and the sandwhiches. I always leave tips that are 20 percent or more and I don’t stay that long. I was rushed out the door, treated like crap, and I’m so upset that this woman had some sort of chip on her shoulder the entire time we were there from the moment we walked in. I would never consider not tipping someone (maybe she had a bad day) but the comment at the end made me wish I didn’t! What kind of servers are you guys hiring here?!? I don’t even want to come back because of...
