Cute little place. Neat concept with cafe, plants, boutique and hair salon. Plants are decent but to be honest, they probably haven't been watered in well over a month. All soil was rock hard and dry. I'm not even sure how the plants look as nice as they did. I bought a plant that appeared to be nice and bushy (philodendron micans), but the long vines were just wrapped around and around the plant causing leaves to grow in all weird directions and making it look much fuller on the top than it actually was. When I got it home, I realized it was completely root bound and soil was hydrophobic. I had to soak it for a hour, completely deconstruct it and repot. I now have it up on a trellis with 19 stems propagating. For $32, I probably should have taken a closer look at the soil, but it looked nice initially.
The chicken salad sandwich I ordered was served on grilled sourdough that was only cut about 1/4" thick, and the bread was rather greasy. Chicken salad was fine, but lacked any sort of seasoning. Seemed to be just chicken, a few nubs of bacon, some celery and Mayo. Salt and pepper are not available at the condiment station, so you have to ask at the counter and they grind it into a cup đ¤ˇđźââď¸. I had the beet smoothie, and ended up needing to add some stevia. Maybe it needs some extra carrot or apple to sweeten it? Menu says it had ginger but there wasn't even a hint of it. For $9.50, it definitely needed more flavor somewhere.
I ended up parking next door and 174 Buffalo restaurant, but it looks like most parking is on the street or across at the plaza. If there's additional parking, there's no indication of it from the street.
I wish I had a better review for a local company. I'll try going one more time and update here, because I know everyone...
Read moreTwo things I LOVE: The chai actually tastes like chai! So if youâre not used to spicy authentic chai, be aware that thatâs what youâll get.
Second, I was told they source their chicken from a local farm that pastures their chicken. Thatâs a big win in my book!
Now moving onto the not so good:
I ordered the Buffalo chicken grain bowl that, although yummy, was a very sad size. Also ordered a small dirty chai and was served a regular chai. Although this mistake was happily resolved, again, the size was a disappointment. When youâre used to 12 oz being the standard small at most cafes and restaurants, receiving something extra small is a bit of a shock! I probably wonât come back because of this.. my boyfriend is 6â5 and twice my weight. Heâd have to buy 2 or more meals to fill up here and for the price we wouldnât be able to justify it.
Also, I was told that they package everything up to go. Itâs unfortunate that there isnât a dine-in option, which would reduce plastic and paper waste. Iâm surprised this is the case, being that they are a...
Read moreVisited on a Saturday afternoon in August, just walked in while passing. Cute, breezy place, open-air feeling due to large open windows. No waiting for a table. It was almost empty, except for 5 or 6 animated young ladies conversing behind the counter. I asked them what their favorite smoothie was. One said Apple Pie, so I ordered it, with an add in of collagen as a splurge. It took probably 10 minutes to make, noticeably long for there being so many staffers and no customers other than a couple well into their meal. One of the girls brought it out to me with a huge smile. Bar none, it was the nastiest smoothie Iâve ever shelled out money for â $13 to be exact. No hint of apple, almonds, or any other of the yummy-sounding ingredients listed in its description. Quasi-unrelated aside: I wonder if the staff were maybe daughter and friends, working...
