Average food and portions. The surrounding area is seedy. When ordering, they didn't have the tikka chicken available so I got the regular chicken platter. I asked clearly for hot sauce on only half of the platter, but the man working put hot sauce on the entire thing, which was inconvenient as I was splitting it with someone.
The meat was tender (as it should be) and seasoned pretty well, but compared to reviews left much more to be desired. The rice was about one step above plain but thankfully it dressed up decently when eaten with the chicken and sauce.
What bothered me the most out of everything though was when I grabbed a soda before leaving and was stopped by the man behind the counter who told me I had to pay for it, meanwhile the top of their menu clearly states that you get a free water or soda with every platter. Apparently it's easier to argue with every customer about it instead of just crossing it off the menu. After our exchange about the situation, he did at least let me keep my soda and I must give him credit for that--but he clearly wasn't happy about it.
I don't understand the other reviews mentioning great service and a personalized experience when I was being rushed and my order got messed up. I'd possibly give this establishment two stars, but I feel obligated to bring the average down due to all these paid actors.
Anyway, I did genuinely enjoy my meal. It was just soured because I was thinking about how I could have went to a place with more exceptional food. Maybe I will come again one day and try something else on the menu. I really want Halal Gs to live up...
Read moreChecked to see the menu, and got the chicken over rice with fries on top. Worker was wearing hair net also gloves. It was a very clean place. No issue with the worker he was nice but I wasn’t allowed to use the restroom and after saying I’m from out east of Long Island and going back there I still wasn’t allowed due to the rules given to him. I have a 1 hour 30 minute drive back and needed to go. I would give 5 stars if I was allowed to use the restroom. Others halal establishments allow me even to come in the back for the restroom. I hope owner sees this and adjust his rules accordingly for customer...
Read moreOur first time visiting and we are officially dubbing this our halal spot! The food was fresh and delicious. The combo over rice was a hearty sized portion, equal in lamb & chicken. And the chicken combo (make sure to add pita!) was chefs kiss tasty! It’s a small spot, but there are a few tables to enjoy your meal and there was plenty of customers coming in and out. 10/10 highly recommend! We will...
