First impressions are everything; and Hard Bean Merrick is everything. Upon entering you are greeted with a completely different atmosphere; introduced to a crisp scent of coffee beans, gentle auxiliary music, intentional yet subtle decor, and a wonderful staff. The service from the staff is rather exceptional, as they serve with care, make the drinks and food with passion, and maintain the cafe to its upmost cleanest possible condition. The food is amazing, personally, I am a fan of the roast beef smith st. Sandwich paired with a Montana coffee drink. I do recommend you try the iced shaken espresso as they seem to be the main attraction of the cafe. With all possible amenities included (free WiFi, clean private bathroom, sofa seating, outlets, and plenty of seating) there is not a reason I wouldn’t come back on a regular basis. Hard Bean Merrick is truly dominating the cafe industry on Long Island, I just hope you as the reader decide to visit this marvelous...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars I would. When I first walked in there were no workers or customers in sight. I mobile ordered a few coffees and sandwiches and got there in less than 10 minutes. The order wasnt even made when I got there so I asked to change my latte flavor from vanilla to cupcake. The worker said okay. I went to go drink it and it tasted like plants and soap. It tastes like chemicals or something really odd. It definitely was not cupcake. I even asked two other people to drink it and they said it was bad too. It was absolutely awful. I felt as if she did it in spite of me asking to switch flavors. I definitely would not recommend or go back there. The sandwich is so small for the price. This is my first time trying this place too so I will not be...
Read moreCute little coffee shop right across from the Merrick train station. Not a huge place but has deceptively more space than it leads on with a couple sitting areas about. I went with their special blend roast, was told it's their best seller and I think that's for good reason! Was a delightful cup of coffee that tasted almost like it had some hints of hazelnut to it. They have plenty of other options available too I'd love to try the next time I come back. Staff was very friendly and they even allowed me to try a taste of the specialty blend to see if I'd like it before I committed to it, which was a nice gesture. Parking can be a little awkward but not too bad, you can park on the street in front and their are a few lots and side streets nearby that you can opt for...
