Hollywood deli — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I have been living in Hempstead almost two years and this place isn't far from where I live. I used to love their baleadas and I got one the other day and it was not it. Their service is good and the ladies are friendly but the food quality has gone down. La cualidad de la comida Baja y baja aqui y carisimo. And they're expensive. I went this evening and got some BBQ wings and a small container with refried beans. The wings weren't good and they were small. The BBQ sauce was nasty. The beans were hella salty. The same price I paid for 8 small wings and that small container of salty beans was 17 and change and at " Las gemelas" in Freeport I got 6 pupusas and guacamole which was wayy better too. Just because they get crowded doesn't mean the food is good. People just don't know how to go and try...

My husband is salvadoran and you can bet we have eaten our fair share of pupusas from various locations. But the revuelta pupusas we got here were soooo good! They beat any other restaurant and ironically it's a deli! Mind you this was also at almost 11PM and they were still fresh and delicious. The carne asada was great and the shrimp tacos as well. I didn't realize they put peppers and cooked onions in the tacos so just be aware if you're used to typical Mexican style tacos. They were still delicious! Hollywood Deli is my go to whenever I’m in the area. They bring back the good ole fashioned neighborhood customer service, they make you feel at home. This is where majority of my co-workers dine for breakfast and lunch.
