
THEY HAVE VEGAN (DAIRY-FREE) ICE CREAM NOW!!! I used to go to Marvel all the time as a kid, and I stopped going early last year because I had to eliminate dairy from my diet for health reasons. I was devastated being that it is not only my favorite ice cream place ever, but it is one of my favorite places on Long Island--period. Read morePlanting Fields is a NY State park with a lot of history and an incredible array of horticultural specimens to see and learn about. There are also greenhouses, Coe Hall (historic mansion) & the Hay Barn. The Hay Barn contains a display with the history of Planting Fields, as well as a cafe and gift shop. The cafe, shop & restrooms are currently closed due to Covid-19, but will hopefully open in phase 3 or 4 in late June or early July 2020. Parking is normally $8 per car, or free with an Empire Pass, but as of this date (June 16 2020) they are not collecting. The park is closed when it reaches capacity, especially on weekends. You get your classic ice cream and ice cream combos here. No sit down area, very small parking lot with a 15 minute hold time. Be careful parking around the neighborhood, people will tow a car in seconds if you block their driveway. Regardless, there is always a line and people always come back.
