Here's the deal...
I always try the basics when I try a new place.
The truth be told...this is NOT a new place...but it was new to me. I had driven by this place 1000 times....but never went in before.
What prompted it? There is another famous ice cream place next door. Any time a store with a similar theme comes in and challenges...should have a lot of confidence and should be tested. AGAIN I never was in there Until today. I am glad I did.
Ok...if I am testing a new place...stick o something basic. In this case a vanilla shake. Why? Because if a place that specializes in ice cream can't handle this...I would not be interested in anything else.
Ok I tried it. It was VERY good. The lone guy in there at the time...an older guy...was pleasant and interesting.
There are a lot of cool signs in the store. Some weren't original...but they were clever and added to the experience.

Not the typical wage slave who hardly speaks English. People have a bad day sometimes or theyāre working late, give them a break, jeez.
Anyway, they were very nice to me when I came in with my two daughters. We were looking for a good ice cream place especially after Penny closed down in Rockville Centre. Itās a bit of a drive from our house in Oceanside but OMG was it worth the trip. The ice cream is so good I HAD to write a review. I went in ten minutes ago and asked about the āveganā banana ice cream, which I found out isnāt really vegan because itās sweetened with honey. This older, grumpy, weird gentleman started aggressively lecturing on me why honey is vegan friendly and how agave nectar is sweetened by bats. When I mentioned that the ice cream label should have ācontains honeyā on it, he argued that thereās a sign that says that, in the back, for employees. He then went on to tell me about how heās a chef and is in search of an aquafaba supplier (like I care). Iāve never encountered such a pretentious and argumentative braggart in a customer service business.
